As far as I can make out, Butch suddenly announced that he wanted to step down from the TMSB's committee. It would appear that he then received a torrent of abusive emails as a thank you, which prompted him to pull the plug on the original forum.

It reappeared for a week or so minus about 11 months worth of posts.

Well, I for one won't miss it even if a kindly refugee did provide me with linkage when it re-appeared. Very few people have re-registered so far and those that have are either being very random or arguing vehemently. The things some people do over the internet. I wonder if they'll recount wistfully, their eyes misting over, the story of the battle of TMSB in '08 to their young 'uns? To$$ers.

I think the TMSBers are gradually emigrating over to the latter so I'm hoping most of the qunts are filtered out.
