Hussey is not a Captain's
Lloyd said years ago that Australia don't realise that ODI cricket is a defensive game.
Go figure the rest. Hussey lost this further shortened game by poor captaincy.

Re: Hussey is not a Captain's
For years Hussey was the most experienced first class cricketer in WA outside the Test side - he must have captained them at some stage.

That's not a bad recoird - at the very least it shows he has some idea what's involved. And I'd take much more notice of that than any one-off ODI tournament, that he at least turned up for.
To me he's an absolutely crediable alternative captain - if Clarke doesn't recover in time and Aunt Hilda names anybody else as VC he's entitled to be very miffed indeed.

He gave Geeves the full four overs when he was getting flogged for 68 runs same with Siddle and didn't bowl Watson at all.

Ah! Now we're getting somewhere.
Now we are being assumptive as usual. I'm whinging because I lost my money because of Geeves being persisted with.

Re: Hussey is not a Captain's
Hussey is not a captain 'cause he lost a Twenty20. Yeah, bollocks.
Looking at the scorecard, the batting order was a disgrace. David Hussey batting at 7 - only one of the men above him was a better batsman and none a better slogger.
But yes, David Hussey is the man.

Wasn't this just a charity game, one step in credibility below the Lilac Hill tour opener?
It's a tonking contest, a tester for new audience members, PB - it's not like it means anything.
If it did, Dighton would be in the Australian side, and the best 20-20 bowlers would be the best bowlers.

...because we really needed to risk an injury to a "bowler" in a really meaningless exhibition game ...did you see Lee , Clark or Johnson bowling?

Why did he only bowl David Hussey for one over? Was that over that went for two runs too expensive?

Why is anyone taking this game seriously. It's not even worth it's own thread.

The IPL is a meaningless tonkfest. Nobody knows or cares which players play for which team, or even which teams contested the finals.

It is a wonder they didn't bring up the Australian's holding back an lbw appeal because they realised it was Gilly
