Oh Fark!!
Fred and Broad crocked
Saj Mahmood and Amjad Khan (yes that's right) called up as cover.
Ah well, at least it's not Fred's old ankle injury

Amjad Khan is shit-house, and a crock too for that matter. Will be hilarious upon the production of 100% certifiable linkage...

Re: Oh Fark!!
Saj makes sense. If everyone else is getting caned around at six an over, you can't really justify leaving him out on the grounds that he can tend to be expensive.
Amjad Khan? Jesus wept. As did Tim Bresnan and Liam Plunkett. And Robbie Joseph. And all the other decent bowlers in the Performance Squad. And some batsmen who can turn their arms over a little.
Perhaps England have just gotten carried away with the success of Shah in this series and tried to shoe-horn in a few more Pakistani-sounding cricketers.

Oh it already has it's own thread. To be honest just shows how little strength in depth there is. In fact there isn't any strength whatsoever.

Simon Jones is injured. Chris Tremlett is (probably) injured, or at least recovering from injury, or perhaps planning his next injury. Jon Lewis is FFS.
What can you do?

Re: Oh Fark!!
WTF?
Even more ridiculous than frigging Patto.
God I detest Peter Moores.

Are you suggesting Amjad Khan can bowl in excess of 200kph?
Crikey. No wonder his knees exploded.

Re: Oh Fark!!
How Tim Bresnan is not considered to be a ''like for like'' (The England selectors love this term) for Broad, i'll never know.
Amjad Khan- What a joke. England's selectors- What a joke. Ban Moores, ban Giles. (Because I choose to blame him.....It's probably his fault....)

Re: Oh Fark!!
Are the English especially injury prone or does it just seem that way?
FWIW I believe Amjad is a BritCit, so there is no legal problem with his selection.

Shane Watson anyone?
The problem in India seems to stem from the previous ODI when the groundsman was called on to tamp down the bowlers footmarks. Fred needed massgae on his anke during the game.
This should not detract from the fact that India have been good , and we have been shoite!

Re: Oh Fark!!
Amjy Khan in Tests? Don't make me laugh! A few years ago I was all for him being allowed into the England setup, but ever since the emergence of Sidebottom, theres no-way.
Just imagine a bowling attack if Fred and Broad are still injured of...
Anderson
Harmison
Mahmood
Khan
Panesar
Makes you want to Vomit slightly at the weakness of that Attack and with India rough and ready for a fight (no pun intended). Plus their form is cracking at the moment and I expect India to rack up atleast one 650 team total in this series.

Re: Oh Fark!!
Why wasn't Onions given a chance hmm? Why didn't they bring over a young spinner like Rashid or Rayner?
England are Farked beyond belief.
I'd bring Robert Croft out of International Retirement just to partner Monty in the test Series. Can't do much wrong compared to the carp they churn out elsewhere....

Re: Oh Fark!!
Onions is a weird one. They seem to have invested so much time in him, taken him on numerous A tours and called him into the seniors a few times as stand by - but they don't seem to rate him enough to take the plunge and give him a go.
Having seen him a few times, I can understand why - he's all kinds of ordinary.
But the selectors obviously think he's worth a damn. But not a damn enough to actually pick.
Strange.

Must be about time that England wheeled out Colin Cowdrey again, too...
