100 runs partnership up. Both Katich and Clarke are playing superbly.

If you want the unbiased commentary switch to the Afrikaans language option. There are SA english speaking commentators on that.

Yeah, there was a technical problem this morning so i had to listen to ian healy and co. They cant understand why SA has a run-saving field even with a soft ball and over 100 run partnership?

Yep and the two biased pricks Lawry and Chappell. They still haven't got over 69/70.

Because Smith is the captain.
We have totally taken away the SA initiative, Saffas simply don't know how to apply the noose.

And the Africans will have to realise that our pitches are probably the most batsman-friendly in the world when you consider the even bounce, lack of swing and generally flat surfaces. There will be no easy wickets for Steyn.

Even the Aussie radio commentators (that are at the ground) say that the pitch is perfect for batting and any sideways movement that was there, is now gone. So i guess its damage limitation till the 2nd new ball?

Thats bad news for Aus, considering that they only have 1 world class bowler in their line-up.

New ball is 32 overs away. Till then if SA doesn't take a wicket, Australia will run away with it as they seem to be doing now.

...I wouldn't describe Johnson as being world class yet

The pitch is very flat and while it may quicken up, with virtually no grass there will be little, if any, sideways movements.

The betting odds don't reflect this, with Australia much, much shorter to win. SA odds blowing out. Their attack certainly lacks a lot of penetration on a pitch with such even bounce and pace. If we post a huge score it does put the pressure on the saffas who will be deflated after letting us off the hook.

I had thought that Morkel would be deadly here. But he looks quite toothless instead.

Jebus red, make up your mind. Is the wicket flat or have we let you off the hook. You can't have it both frigging ways.

Well I can in a sense. I said even before a wicket had fallen that the pitch was very flat, and uncharacteristically so for the Perth pitch we used to love. But having got us under deep pressure at 3/15, I think the Africans loosened the screws, despite the flatness of the surface.

Steyn was disappointing today...
Another wicket here and AUS will be in some strife.
