You would take 341-9 from 15-3 anytime.
Match will depend on how well SA bat.

Steyn was much better and tighter with the new ball. All the runs scored off him were just edges.
And he was bowling a fiery spell to the tailenders. Wonderful!!

Lay off the drugs Chandan. He was 5/10 at best.

Meh, pretty p!sspoor effort by Aus.
I guess after being 3-15, one shouldn't complain about being 9-341 at Stumps. But FFS, this is a 500+ wicket.
Galoot is a softc0ck, Drunky is Dravid, Hussey had a rare failure, Fleas was robbed but deserved to be out for missing a full-bunger, Pup, Roy and Haddit all chucked their hands away when set, and then the Yarps winkled out a few tailenders.
9-341 sounds like a good day for the punters but it's farkin well short of par on this deck.

Oh, and Ntini is as sh!t as he ever was, Steyn was unimpressive, Morkel looks like an Ostrich on steroids, Harris chucks better darts than Phil "The Power" Taylor, Sooky is a fat qunt, and ABdV is an excellent slipper.

You might be singing a different song if Bung and Midge get them to 7-34.

Indeed I will, if such a fantasy comes true, PCS. But on this wicket, unless the massive Saffie choke factor kicks in, I expect them to grind out a boring Jackie lead 450+.

Makes you wonder why Aus battled against such a poor team.

When you think about it, the cricket today wasn't of a great standard. Only the first 30 minutes was top class stuff from the Saffies. And Katich played well in a Katich sort of way- Ie it was like acid to the eyes but the guy crabbed and deflected his way to a score. He also managed to get in his trademark run out avoiding dive.

Re: Australia v South Africa, 1st Test, Perth, Dec 17-21
It were sh!t, Trev. Aus were amateur hour at the start, then showed some spine on a wicket that Pup admitted was grouse to bat on, to get Aus back in a goodish position of 3-164. The double brain-snap - in trouble again.
Roy and Haddit batted with ease and style to race on a near hundred stand before both overdosed on viagra and engaged in some Simmo catching practice. Tailenders then had some fun and did it easy before some fair bowling knocked them over.
Pretty dross on both sides' parts. But the Yarps will be smiling more about the current position than Aus. The wicket will be a pearler to bat on tomorrow.

It's like this taips. Spent all day in a sh!tfull risk management workshop (farkin 7.30 am to 5.40 pm with miniscules breaks at 9.30, 12.00 and 2.00). Quickly logged on to someone's PC in the late arvo break and see 2-15 (luckily it was before Hussey went for a duck). Another 3 and half hours of mind numbing workshoping before listening to the cricket in a 90 minute drive home. Fleas and Pup do great then both chuck it away.taipan wrote:skully wrote:Erm, I thought I summed that up in my first post, taips.taipan wrote:skully wrote:Oh, and Ntini is as sh!t as he ever was, Steyn was unimpressive, Morkel looks like an Ostrich on steroids, Harris chucks better darts than Phil "The Power" Taylor, Sooky is a fat qunt, and ABdV is an excellent slipper.

Watched the last 2 and a half hours on the Teev. The rest is my opinion.

Didn't you see the difference between his first spell which was mostly wild and the last spell which was on the money?
You can say that he started the day terribly, didn't redeem himself enough in the other spells but the final one was quite good for me.

Sorry Chandan, on what I saw, Steyn was as unimpressive as the first time I saw him play. On that occasion, over a couple of Tests, KP spanked him royally in SAf.

Do you mean Strauss? KP didn't play in Steyn's debut series in 04-05.

I agree that he was quite unimpressive as a whole. I even said that Irfan had impressed more on this pitch earlier this year. But I liked his final burst with the second new ball.

I reckon Steyn looks as sooky as Watson. He pulls that pursed lips pansy face when he beats the edge or gets smacked for a four.
