Yep, doesn't detract from the movie.
Of course the book was far better.

Re: taips santa watch
It\'s set in older days and she plays the daughter of a Rabbi and cos she\'s a woman, she\'s not allowed to discuss or debate theology or Jewish law etc, so when her father dies she disguises herself as a boy and goes off to study. Of course, this bloke falls in love with her and she loves him and then she gets her norks out and they live happily ever after.

Well, there's no cowboys and injuns, and nobody getting a hole in their head, or blown to bits . . . if that's what you mean.skully wrote:Sounds rivetting.Demelza wrote:It\'s set in older days and she plays the daughter of a Rabbi and cos she\'s a woman, she\'s not allowed to discuss or debate theology or Jewish law etc, so when her father dies she disguises herself as a boy and goes off to study. Now, now, Dem. Don't count me out of the group of big boofy blokes that enjoys a good sentimental movie.

Hey, there are a lot of very moving moments in that movie.
I would rate it as a chick flick.

That last scene where the benefactor gives her the money she needs was the most poignant moment of the movie.

The candle wax scene (what was that old chick's name) was pretty teary - as in painful.
taips slowing the strokes down now for maximum effect.

Mad woman was trying to tell a very emotional story and you have to spoil the plot for us.
