Heh

148 players in the Auction - how many are likely to be picked up?
Think those 3 are being the definition of optimistic!

They reckon only about 16 will be picked up. The only chance Gough has is if his old mate Warnie feels the RR could do with his experience around the dressing room.
Cork and Udal- No chance in hell.

And $1million on KP is well overpriced. The one form of the game he hasn't been outstanding at is..... T20
Flintoff much better VFM.

$1.3 million is Pietersen's BASE price. He could fetch as much as 2 million. An unheard of number for cricket.

Are they all just rolling the dice, or have they put themselves forward because they've been given indications that there's interest out there?
148 players - that's going to be 130 bruised egos...

Can't see Graham Napiers name amongst this lot...
I guess if you haven't played int'l cricket you can just be snapped up without Auction as he's been telling all and sundry he'll be playing IPL.
If I was an owner looking to pick 4 of that lot i'd go for Fred,KP,Shah & Bopara.
England: Ravi Bopara, Monty Panesar, Robert Key, James Foster, Sajid Mahmood, Matt Prior, Ian Bell, Paul Collingwood, Owais Shah, Darren Gough, Ryan Sidebottom, Graeme Swann, Luke Wright, Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Flintoff, Steve Harmison, James Anderson, Ed Joyce, Dominic Cork

Couple of players got snapped up before the auction, didn't they? Pretty sure Napier, Dimi and someone else a bit crap were all confirmed.
Re: Gough, Cork AND Udal in IPL Auction WTF?
D Cork was recently in Pakistan.
He looked like a NERVOUS wreck during the presentation ceremony but did a fair job in the commentary box.

napier has already been picked up by bombay. players who have not played international cricket can be bought at any time, no need for an auction. few others were picked up this year
only 12-16 players will be bought in the auction. i would think 8-10 of them are pretty obvious choices and the others likely to be bought are young t20 players

That's be the same Mascarenhas who scored 17 off 70 in the State Shield OD final in NZ yesterday? Good get... Not!
