India vs Australia, 4th ODI, Chandigarh, 8th Oct
So, India, having given Australia the head-start to make this series competitive, are going to win.

Mohali will be like a home ground for the Aussies. India won't get them past again!

What do you Indian fans feel about this piece:
"The Australians are an extremely professional unit and are on a serious business trip without the distraction of this never-ending party. It is guaranteed hangover material for Dhoni's men.
Every time I turn on the sensational 24-hour cricket news channel here, I see pictures of Australians at fielding practice and Indians being paraded up and down red carpets. A cricket tour in India is something like a celebrity road show for its stars.
The Indians, a good cricket team, were comprehensively beaten by the best cricket team in Kochi on Tuesday. The same result is likely again on Friday.
But while the Australians were practicing hard at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium on Wednesday night, the men in blue were making money.
The Twenty20 squad was being handsomely rewarded with plots of property at a smart hotel, Sachin Tendulkar launched a website and then presented a car to the Indian women's cricket captain, while Dravid promoted motor oil for the second night in a row. Then Pathan, Uthappa, Gambhir, Harbhajan, R.P Singh and Sharma modelled footwear at an apparel showroom".

poor scheduling by the bcci. a game on friday, a game on monday and nothing during the weekend - muppets.

Australia will have a plan for Yuvrav this time and show him more respect.
They don't like a player to get the wood on them.
I would play Bracken over Clark for that reason.

yeah, yuvraj seems to have the measure of clark atm. but it would be harsh to drop him imo. why not drop hopes? aussie batting in form anyway, dont really need him

Hogg at 7? That tail would be too long. Hopes gives a bit of balance.

They won't drop Hopes. The selectors don't work that way.
Bowler for bowler batsman for batsman usually and they love their allrounder.
Clark could well play but Bracken is a chance.

Hopefully Hilfenhaus will get a game towards the end of the series, otherwise they should send him home to play for Tassie. May as well send Hodge home now to play for the Vics.

Yes and Yes on both points. Haddin has to come in for Hodge....surely....but then the Oz selectors are not known for their logic.

Gambhir is supposed to be injured in practice.

Indian team
SC Ganguly,
SR Tendulkar,
RV Uthappa,
Yuvraj Singh,
R Dravid,
MS Dhoni,
IK Pathan,
M Kartik,
Harbhajan Singh,
Z Khan,
RP Singh
We're playing 5 bowlers again. Don't know what they'll achieve with that?

Three changes in the Indian team. RP Singh, Sourav Ganguly and Murali Kartik are in, replacing Sreesanth, Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma.
Thanks for dropping Sree and Gambhir. They were really doing nothing.

As for Aussies, Bracken has replaced Clark, which makes their bowling gets all the more potent.
Isn't it full strength Australian ODI XI, apart from obviously Hussey coming in for Hodge and maybe Watson coming in for Hopes, though Watson hardly seems to be playing a game atm due to fitness issues.

Yep, with Bracken coming in and on a ground which still has early morning dew and heavy outfield due to wet patches, it does appear like that.tac wrote:SG wrote:Indians are finally batting first.

India haven't beaten Aussies since 18-Jan-04, when they defeated them at Gabba in VB series. So its been 46 months since India last won against Aussies.
