With Pakistan on 2/211 you make a fair case.
Does anyone really rate Malinga that highly?

SA have the best attack atm, even if it's not the best balanced one.

Sri Lanka's attack often does not bowl.

Re: SL- Best bowling attack in the world?
Malinga would have been a HUGE plus on this Karachi pitch.
The likes of Fernando and Arafat were getting the ball to reverse but didn't bowl at a sharp enough pace or the right length to get the results.
Malinga
Vaas/Prasad
Murali
Mendis
thats a solid attack.

Re: SL- Best bowling attack in the world?
SL's attack get too many easy wickets, although thats not their fault, they just don't get enough games against the top 5 teams.
Geekoid fact-o: Mendis' average has now passed 20 thanks to Younis Khan's mega knock. Funny how he seems quite human when bowling on a flat track to decent batters, some would have you believe he's completely impossible to play.
I've yet to see him bowl, but I'm looking forward to the day I do. No doubt he'd run through England's 1-11 (with the possible resistance from KP) like a red hot knife through a block of lard.

D Prasad was doing a good job
I reckon he(or some other youngster) should open the bowling with Malinga which will make M and Ms even more effective
...Vaas should be dropped for good.

if they are only going to play 4 bowlers then it makes NO sense to play 3 spinners

Re: SL- Best bowling attack in the world?
I thought Vaas had retired long ago. Nowadays when I look at the SL bowling scorecard, I look at the competition between Murali and Mendis. That to me is the most interesting thing.
Malinga will help balance the attack when he returns, Fernando is like Daren Powell, a tad overrated IMO.
