I presume it is being called a draw, not a forfeit.

Hmm, interesting should anyone decide to take up the matter, what the laws of cricket say...

So SL is leaving a war zone to go back to a war zone.
Next to the word 'irony' in the dictionary is a picture of the SL cricket team.

In Pakistan maybe for the time being. The ICC must act now so that they can continue to play "home" tests at a neutral venue.

"Well the WI/England test was called a draw wasn't it?"
Nup. It was called a win for England.
EDIT: Sorry, had a complete brain-out there. I thought you meant the Pakistan/England test.
The WI/England test was called a draw, but that's because the match was abandoned due to field conditions. In this case, regardless of the circs, the match is abandoned because one team has decided to go home.
I presume that someone, somewhere, will need to decide that this is a draw for compassionate reasons, rather than a forfeiture as the letter of the Laws might indicated.

I'd be happy to buy you a one way ticket to either country.

But please not in the 50 degree heat of Shahjah. Even a superfit warhorse like Andy Bichel nearly carked it in that heat.Basil wrote:Henry wrote:RIP Pakistan cricket.

Yorkshire have offered up Headingley in the past. Anywhere where there's a substantial Pakistani community would do I suppose.

Headingley and Old Trafford would be ideal. Especially Old Trafford as the ground wasn't meant to get a test for the next 4 (?) years.

erm...henry, qm3 is clearly right...prospects for tours in SL are not great either given the govt. v tigers situation...fwiw i think tours of the whole subiville may be off the agenda by the end of this year...the contradictions within banindia are sharpening as hindu militancy increases...the GFC will further destabilise that country..
ironically (given the probs in the bangle army) bangladesh may become the safest place in subiville

Been there done that dickhead. Got the tee-shirt, don't really give a rat's arse. When the world's largest democracy (excuse me while I choke) can start working out what democracy means we'll play ball ball.
In the meantime if you're shitty little navy threatens Australia, along with China. here's a newsflash.
Sort your big ****** democracy out before you even think you can actually be players on a world stage.
Here's a hint. We don't hide behind democracy when we exclude anyone we don't feel like.
And by the way we could smoke Delhi before you even knew the aircraft were in the air.

yikes...think I may have had a smoke in delhi..it is true that when the world's supply of cant went around, India scored big time.
india need to sort out their democracy, rid itself of its own religious extremist nutbags, share the wealth fairly and immediately adopt China's great policy contribution to the world - the one child policy
