Son glued to IPL match stabbed to death in India
May 12, 2009 Edition 1
NEW DELHI - An Indian man angered by his son's refusal to switch off the television during a cricket match allegedly stabbed him to death.
The accused Meghnath Kamble, killed his 24-year-old son Sandesh on Sunday night when he insisted on watching an Indian Premier League match, played in South Africa, at his home in Mumbai, the Press Trust of India quoted police as saying.
"Kamble asked his son to switch off the television as he was tired and wanted to rest, but Sandesh refused, after which Kamble shouted at him and warned him," a Mumbai officer said.
The man allegedly then lost his temper when his son kept on watching the match.
"Furious, Kamble went to the kitchen and returned with a knife. He then stabbed his son in the chest," the officer said, adding that the accused was now in custody. - Sapa-AFP

Re: IPL can be dangerous to your health
The tragedy of modern India. The Govt has no mass housing plans and a majority of the middle class and a lot of the lower middle class live in small one room tenements not more than 250-300 square feet. A large part of them even live in places as small as 200-225 sq. ft. This would also include a makeshift kitchen. Family members could be anything between 3 - 10. Housing sector is in hands of Politician-builder cartel working for profits. Lots of families have these co-habiting problems in such confined spaces. It is a huge test, the whole life in there for millions of families.
