Australia really don't get what t20 is all about.

Yep, the slow over-rates issue has come to the fore again, with Australia fined for a slow-over rate in the Sri Lanka match.

Australian players were fined 5% of their match fee, while Ricky Ponting was fined 10%.

When will CricAus do something about the captain's recidivism in this area?

Ponting is damn lucky that he hasn't been suspended. How funny would it have been if he'd been suspended for the first Ashes test for slow over rates in the World T20.

It would've made me happy.

We clearly have no clue how to play this form of the game. And a patently wrongly chosen squad certainly doesn't help.

Absolutely right Skully. Aust are still approaching 20/20 like a 50 over game. As soon as i saw the Aust squad i knew we were rooted....and yet they (cric oz) still don't seem to comprehend. They are now talking about making Clarke 20/20 captain. FFS!!! i would'nt even have him in the squad. He has done bugger all in this format & probably never will. We need a completely different squad & not necessarily contract players. Something like the Aust Rugby sevens side which has few international players but has fast nippy players that know how to play that particular format.

Get your retired players back only for this format. Gilly, Haydos and a few others. You might argue that the WC isn't like the IPL, but it does reflect the individual approach. Just a thought.

If that's not acceptable, maybe starting from scratch will do the trick. 2 years isn't that long a period.

Made the right choice with Warner but didn't go far enough in selecting specialist JAMITT players, ie Pommy basher,Ronchi etc

Maybe we should start a veterans league?

A couple of suggestions ...

If they want the JAMODI squad to play in the World T20 Cup then


Play the Domestic T20 comp when ALL players are available ...no resting for the Internationals or clashes with International fixturing ...

...and they should also be made to play in the IPL

or pick players who actually did well in the Domestic comp or who have played IPL seriously

The batting wasn't that bad.... scores of 170 & 160 will win you 50% of T20 games.

They just had Blee bowling.

Also, Oz were unlucky to be in the Group of Death with a couple of sides that love the boom-bash format, and are pretty hot at it.
