Why India lost the T20 World Cup.....
...Who The Fark Cares?
It was just another crap T20 circus and not even a real 'world cup.' Why should the 'fans' and the media be so upset? Should people take T20 cricket so seriously at all? Who would care if even Ireland won this one?
One of the crappiest and the most deplorable 'news' channel even ran a poll on whether Dhoni should be 'forgiven'? Forgiven? For what? For being lousy in a lousy form of game to cap off a long hectic schedule?
As long as he was winning everything, he was the best and the greatest and now one lousy championship loss means he is to be blamed for everything and trampled upon. The 'strategies' were haled worldwide as long as we were winning but now suddenly he has experimented too much?
They should be kicking thunderqunt Modi's arse. He helped in shaping up other team players and giving them sufficient T20 match preparation while pushing the Indian team into a chasm of overload, fatigue and fitness over 2 months of excessive IPL in a very stressful packed calender. I mean which other cricket board packs it's players off to play a 2 month long marathon tournament within 24 hours of returning from a month and a half long overeas tour in New Zealand?
It's all so crap.

Another ridiculous piece on Cricinfo...
What a load of bull crap - Is this person seriously asking if English fans would prefered to have lost 0-2 to the WI in a hometest series than lose what boils down to a 9 over slog?
I have actually enjoyed this tournament but lets get some perspective.
Underrated, ridiculed in the English press and beaten up several times
this summer, theirs were the coolest heads in that maelstrom of
thunderous heat, and they won the one that really mattered.

Didn't the guys get a heroes' welcome and lots of fireworks when they arrived home after the last T20 circus?

yes, the biggest reception any indian sporting team has received. probably more due to the fact that we dont win much i guess
enjoy the good times. dont dwell too much on the lows. should prevent a few ulcers for many indians

IPL - BCCI they are the problems as far as I can see.
Interestingly Gary Kirsten mentioned IPL and BCCI as expected has shot back at him.

Lol. It's amazing how 'unimportant' T20 becomes when India don't do well in it.

It is very important in the eyes of the common fan hence the big backlash. I heard that even a Dhoni effigy went up in flames in his home town. The press and still full on with this subject.

overblown expectations. in 2007 we were no-hopers who won the world cup. this year we were supposed to be hot favourites but somehow lost. in both cases the expectations were wrong. we just are not amongst the top t20 teams, our record since the last world cup shows that

The BCCI had the gall to say that players were not forced to play IPL. What is the point of then appointing seniors as 'icon' players and would BCCI and Franchisees have been accomodating if any players asked not to play IPL?Josh Carney wrote:IPL - BCCI they are the problems as far as I can see. The 'Dhoni' effigy function was 'reportedly' orchestrated by a couple of media channels trying to cook up a story. I think we need some strict Govt regulations to clamp down on such sick, low quality and irresponsible media houses ASAP.Josh Carney wrote:It is very important in the eyes of the common fan hence the big backlash. Not all Indian fans are so gung ho about T20 cricket and it is not specific. The extreme reactions also extend to one day or test results as well and T20 isn't an exception. Under any case I am among many such who neither watch T20 when the going is good nor when it is bad.Batman wrote: Lol. It's amazing how 'unimportant' T20 becomes when India don't do well in it.

Read some news bit that that Dhoni is trying to undermine both Yuvraj and Sehwag to be advertising's top poster boy and that he didn't promote Yuvraj up the order deliberately because he didn't want him to get an opportunity to be a hero and get more commercial ad film contracts.

I could swear that media does not care if Team India broke down and became a losing squad so they could keep cooking and feeding stories and keep getting sponsors for every stupid breaking news byte they can invent. The whole pressure on the so called Sehwag-Dhoni rift only weakened the team and distracted them a dn after setting them up and breaking them down the vultures in the media are going for the leftovers of the carcass rotting due to their own dirty game.

I am merely questioning the way our media goes beyond their limits and how they impact the game. I have not followed of posted on any game either during the IPL or the so called WC. I prefer to look at the larger picture however and there is no escaping this nonsense in any form of media at present, whether newspapers or TV 'news' channels, or in discussions that stupid fans at office have over lunch/tea breaks. All this conspiracy stories of power and politics and conflict of personal interest and what not. Fact is I can't escape it entirely.

So is that thunderqunt Modi and Brainless Corrupt Crooked Idiots still hell bent on having 2 IPLs a year? In which case why not have 2 T20 World Cups as well?

I don't think they can give the excuse of fatigue. Something else was/is cooking.
esp Dhoni seemed intent on proving to aggressive press folks on how he could perform badly if he wanted to and owed nothing to anyone.
End result was too comical and gave us Indic fans a few tragic moments in between the Zzzzz which we reserved for the whole tournament.

I suspect India did not make the semi finals because the WCup was not on home soil...the BCCI would be wise to continue holding the IPL outside the subi...that way an Indian team is at least guaranteed of winning a tournament

Why India lost the T20 World Cup.....
Simple explanation ....
They were shit and far too much was expected of them from the over-expectant home (and their UK 'home') supporters.
The End.
