You're probably right, drspin. Sitting watching while hoping your batsmen survive a moving ball is different to watching expecting your bowlers to take wickets with a moving ball. But it was tense stuff.

They need to give Swann a long bowl, rotate the seamers from the other end.
Only Jammy's looked like taking a wicket - and he can't bowl all day.

You guys are very harsh on Jimmykins.
Come on skulls, you should know by now that many poms look upon Anderson the way you Aussies looked at Brett Lee.
I've been listening on TMS, and Jimmy has had nothing but praise this morning, from ex-players commentating who'm I'd respectfully suggest have somewhat more knowledge than any of us posting on here. Hell, if he were to take 25 wickets at 30, it would only be because you had the wettest, dampest summer in Test history.
Aus have applied themselves and batted pretty well. You've had the bit of luck with the reviews - by that I mean that whilst both reviews were correct, on another day the ball hitting a couple of inches lower and the decisions would have gone our way. He'd have had 3/36 at just over 2.5 rpo, but he still wouldn't be getting any credit. TBH it's beginning to sound like a stuck record ......

It is about the tiny margins though isn't it? Watching the bowling, they just couldn't quite get the length right for the first hour, too short and it was allowed to pass, too full and Watto played some amazing drives with half defensive drives.
Once they got the length right, there seemed to be a bit more spit
And Punter GGAAAAWWWWNNNNN!!!
I said we could gt him early!

The useless wanker's just got Ponting too.
Not his best ball of the day, but I doubt anyone's complaining .....

Strauss seems really reluctant to bowl Swann.

They'll probably waste a lot of time and energy bowling short at Clarke given how piss-weak he faced up to Broad in last summer's ODIs.
Not sure it's the pitch for it, though...

If England had a leg-slip to Katich he'd have half the runs.
Re: Australia v England, 1st Test, Brisbane, Nov 25-29, 2010
I do think this will be his best test and he'll have a torrid time for the rest of the tour still, but fark it, liking being proved wrong at the moment, long may my ill judgement of his skills continue!Growler wrote:Oh No !!!!!!!

So we have our answer - Drunky opens the door rather than stamps his mark. A shell of his former greatness.

And the game remains well and truly on. Backed England at generous odds yesterday morning, should have doubled up overnight at even better odds.
England to have a first innings lead.

Bit of a myth that the Kookaburra goes completely soft and lifeless after 15 overs, then.....
