Dawn Fraser 'fights off teen intruder'

Dawn Fraser attacked
Golden girl swimmer, Dawn Fraser, put up a fight when she was allegedly strangled by intruders in...
OLYMPIC great Dawn Fraser says she fought off and helped capture a teenager who allegedly trespassed onto her property.
Fraser and members of her family confronted a group of teenagers at her Noosaville home on Friday night.
The 71-year-old told Sky News she was "annoyed" at the teenager's actions.
"This guy came out of the gate and grabbed me and I grabbed him by the ear and I kicked him in the groin," she said.
"So he had to let me go and he threatened my life and I got really annoyed about that and just grabbed him by the ear and the hair."
She said a male friend made the man lie on his stomach until police arrived.
The friend also made a number of other teens sit down and wait.
Conflicting reports
Sky News reported that the incident occurred at her daughter's Sunshine Coast retreat, that the teenager "tried to strangle" Fraser, and two people were arrested after the incident.
But a Queensland police spokeswoman said they were unaware of any attack occurring.
"Investigations are continuing as far as police are concerned," she said.
"Nobody was attacked."
The spokeswoman said a "number of males" had entered several properties in Noosaville, but did not break in to any of them.
"A couple of the men were disturbed while this was in process," the spokeswoman said.
"Two were apprehended by residents as they tried to leave the area. It's being treated as a trespass incident."
No charges have been laid.

Up there with AB. Should've lit the flame at Sydney in 2000.

Re: Dawn Fraser - legend
That never would've washed amongst the PC BS artists who organised Syd2000. I mean why would you want someone who won the same event at three successive games to do the iconic job of the games when you could have a nasally-voiced, whiney, attention-seeking prima donna who at that stage hadn't done anything of note at the Olympics, and who faded from view fairly rapidly afterwards?Bradman wrote:Up there with AB. Re: Dawn Fraser - legend
To be fair Zat and I think you know I don't drop names willy nilly. I once cooked for Cath on a beach and asked her about the whole 2000 Olympics thing.
She was distraught at what she was put through. "Get Shirly, Betty or Raelene to light the bloody thing. I'm carrying two nations on my back and I don't need this shit", was what she told the OOC. Dawn settled her down and she did alright but she admitted she shouldn't have been chosen to light the flame.

qmy, I wasn't criticising Cathy Freeman (well, not in the main, I'm not a huge fan and was probably one of the few people working at Syd2000 who didn't stop their job for her gold in the 400m) I was taking a shot at the PC BS artists who made the decision.

Yeah but if you knew her you'd be forgiven for dropping the old dragon's name every chance you got.

I quite like the sounds of her. I mean, anyone who gives you grief has to be OK.

Re: Dawn Fraser - legend
Whilst I'm on a roll I'll drop another name. When Bronnie was Minister for Defence Science and Personnel she once gave me a lift in her Comcar from the function I was speaking at to my hotel.
I was bitching about Canberra and asked her how she managed to live in the fishbowl. "Lots of guilt free sex". I've gotta admit I felt more kindly towards her after that. Still hated the bitch but she at least proved she was human, something I had doubted for a while.

I'd say from that, that maybe she does 'know' RD. Except that I'm informed any woman who has sex with the ugly wee man is wracked with guilt for long periods afterwards. Not because she had sex, just because she had sex with him...

The driver ran a red light when she said it and almost missed the turn-off to the Lakeside. I thought for a while I was going to have to spend the night at a Best Western in Tuggerenong.

There was no Mrs qmy then. Though the driver made a crack about a possible future Mrs qmy that went down like a lead balloon.
