Bit more shitty for S.A. though who probably thought that they were going to cream England.

England really has SA's measure in ODIs. SA probably were the better team in the T20s but SA was poor in the one day encounters except for an aberrant performance in Cape Town. England really didn't have to do much with the bat given the poor performances of the men in green with the willow. They will take plenty of confidence into the test series.

I don't know - I call it pretty even. They exchanged tonkings. I expected SA to continue the sequence in this game by crushing England into the dust.
Shaping up for a great, and close Test series though.

Nah. Kallis will return and come down on the Poms like a ton of bricks.

I fear England are one penetrative bowler short of equality in the bowling.
And worse, remain too dependent on Kev in the batting. When all too often v SAf, he can be thought out.
So I would (genuinely) be surprised if England won. Draw, hmm, maybe.

I know, I know, Lever. Mea culpa (*). I forget sometimes how hard it can be for an Essex geeza to "get the point" ( + ).
( + ) That means ..... (ready?.....) ...... un-der - st-and ... t h e ... mean - ing.

SA's bowling is looking suspect, especially because the over the hill Ntini will be playing and Kallis may well be unfit. Steyn is also nursing an injury(even if the poms don't fear him) and Harris hasn't been setting the world on fire on the domestic scene. Their batting looks a bit fragile with Kallis possibly missing, an unsettled opening pair and Duminy a walking wicket. Boucher has also been struggling a bit with the bat and can no longer be relied upon to bail them out.

That reminds me of the time Mudge signed up for the wrong Flaming Bails (a test forum that I was just trying out for size) and spent a week posting on his own, asking where everyone was.
Good times.
