U Akmal, Younus, Butt, there are still some decent batsmen about. Is Kaneira still in the frame? And of course Play It Again Sami will surely get a recall.

Problem is that if Yousuf doesn't play then Faisal Iqbal play...

Henry,
Shoaib has been doing a lot of work and has done well in domestic cricket so possibly one last chance in the Asia cup..

I personally will go for Sami ahead of both Shoaib and Gul(in ODIs)

KARACHI: Former captain Younis Khan is in no mood to change his stance against the Pakistan Cricket Board over the indefinite ban imposed on him and has turned down a PCB offer to go for a compromise before the England tour.

Sources close to the legal advisors of the Board and Younis said that the PCB, through its legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi, had floated an offer that if Younis withdrew his appeal against the ban, they could remove it and close the chapter by just imposing a nominal fine.

“But Younis who has left for England has instructed his lawyer Ahmed Qayyum that he should see to it that the Board’️s appeal judge Justice (retd) Irfan Qadir gives a full verdict on the appeal lodged by the former captain against his ban,” a source said.

Sources further said that Younis was not ready to accept any wrongdoing on his part even if the PCB was indicating he could be playing for Pakistan soon under the compromise formula. “The Board basically wants to close the chapter and has made a settlement offer to Younis Khan’️s lawyer,” the source confirmed.

The ban was imposed in March and Younis has appealed against it and also attended two hearings with Justice Qadir.

“Younis is adamant that he has done nothing wrong except to try to do his best for Pakistan and has never been part of any grouping or lobbying and so the ban on him is totally unjustified and he wants a full verdict on his appeal from the judge,” another source said.

Younis has demanded that the appeals judge suspend his ban and also hold his hearings on camera so that the media and people know the truth and can decide if the ban on him is justified.

Even at the hearing of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Sports on Monday, Younis made it clear that he had never indulged in politics or intrigues in the team and the ban must be removed unconditionally.

The NA committee has told the PCB that it feels that Younis has been treated unfairly and the bans and fines on players must be reviewed.

The Board on Tuesday included Younis and another banned player Shoaib Malik into the list of probables for the Asia Cup and England tour on condition that they are cleared by the appeals judge. Justice Qadir is due to hear Younis’️ next appeal on May 29 while the former captain has also threatened to go to court if he didn’️t get justice.—Agencies

you really are desperate to take any and every cheap shot possible...
Probably because bloody liars like you and your compatriots provide ample opportunity for that, again and again and again.

As for your rest of your sh!t, take it to your natural habitat (4th best cricket forum on web, lol) which is a perfect place for it.

Snigger. His last chance should have been about 4 years ago. And how many comebacks has he made since then? Even if he's fit now, history says it will last about a month before there's a breakdown/incident. And oh yeah, he's 34 now. Time to draw the line. Again. Forever.

Pakistani cricket is funny.

one can argue that this time he has actually earnt his place back...BUT for Shoaib to be in the team he has to be SIGNIFICANTLY better than others and the age of 34 he is no longer the force that he was once was which is why i would go for Sami

Sami??? FFS, do you work for the PCB? Look at his stats. He's rubbish. He's not even consistently quick anymore. He bowls 135 kph pies these days, as opposed to the 150 kph pies he used to bowl.

Surely there is a few young, quick promising fast bowlers in Pakistan?

Mohammad Yousuf has closed the door on the prospect of coming out of retirement for Pakistan's upcoming tour of England, saying he was still disappointed with the way he was treated by the PCB.

"I will not change my decision about the retirement. What happens in the future only God knows," Yousuf told Reuters. "I am still disappointed at the way the board treated me, and with the ban, because I didn't deserve it as I have always given my 100% to the team."

Of the seven punished players, Yousuf was the only one to not file a formal appeal against the sanctions imposed by the PCB. On Tuesday, Pakistan announced the 35-member list of probables for the Asia Cup and England tour. Five of the punished players, including former captains Younis Khan and Shoaib Malik who are currently serving bans that are due to be reviewed, were picked but Yousuf was not considered. On Thursday, Shahid Afridi, the newly-appointed captain, requested Yousuf to reconsider his decision since "we will certainly need his services in England", but Yousuf turned down the offer.

"I don't think I am mentally ready for international cricket at this stage. I do plan to play the next domestic season to see how it goes," he said.

he bowled quite fast in the Sydeny test and his performance in the Q E Azam trophy was exceptional...he can easily make the ODI team.
