BD v India, 2nd ODI, Asia Cup, Dambulla, June 16, 2010
After a cracking start to the tournament, expect this game to be a damp squib with India expected to lose 3rd time in succession to a minnow.

SG,
You should be glad that despite India's poor show in WI and ZIM the selectors are brave enough to drop some of the lazy "stars" like Yuvi.
In PAK they would have recalled Javed Miandad and Sarfraz Nawaz

That was long overdue. But there are still lazy 'stars' left in the team who've taken their spots for granted. You should be glad that despite India's poor show in WI and ZIM the selectors are brave enough to drop some of the lazy "stars" like Yuvi.
Gambhir is a walking wicket for quite some time now, Zaheer/Nehra haven't delivered in ages, and I never had any confidence in the FTB. And Jadeja is Jadeja, never had an iota of talent. Just because you're praised by none other than Warne doesn't mean you'll make it count at int'l level.

Even they're not that insane. Our own Srikanth trumps everyone in insanity. In PAK they would have recalled Javed Miandad and Sarfraz Nawaz

I don't know why SG and some other Indians don't like Gambhir, he has almost all the qualities that you need in a batsman.

I didn't say I don't like him. I just said his form of late has been very ordinary.

Would you like the next Gen of players to do well or prefer them fail so that the fans of the gone by era / heroes can keep glorifying them as irreplacable ? give us an honest answer.SG wrote:After a cracking start to the tournament, expect this game to be a damp squib with India expected to lose 3rd time in succession to a minnow.

Expect Josh to utter those pearls every now and then especially since Tendulkar is not playing, thankfully for him. Its clear that only hero he is talking about is Tendulkar as BCCI just won't pick Dravid and Ganguly has retired long back. They were the only worthwhile bygone 'heroes' to be talked about. Some people have just a single point agenda.
And what next gen players you're talking about?

Unfortunately, this Dambulla track (especially under lights) looks like win the toss and win the game type track.
I hope I'm proved wrong but first game clearly showed us why its such a good toss to win on this track.

Even Malinga has admitted this.
Eight floodlight towers were installed in 2003, but Sri Lanka's hero of the day, Lasith Malinga, said team batting under natural light had a definite advantage. "The lights are not good enough by international standards, it is a handicap for the side batting second," he said after the match. "However, Sri Lanka are used to it as we have played number of matches under this condition. We faced only problems when fielding, the fielders found it a little difficult to pick up the ball at times."

India (Playing XI): Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni(w/c), Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra
Batting doesn't inspire much confidence. Its a joke to play Jadeja in matches after matches.

Rollicking start for BD which was expected. Who won't have against such an 'attack'?

Pisspoor bowling from Zaheer. He has been really really poor in ODIs.
As for Praveen, he isn't good enough to play int'l cricket.

A bit like the recent test series - get Tamim out and then the rest play normal cricket

It won't do them any good if they're so reliant on Tamim. Just like Indian team of '90s.
