It's been a big week for cricket books released in SA. Gibbs' book sold out within two days. Arthur's comments may prove just as controversial.

Really? I sometimes wonder where you get your info from. I bought my copy on Monday and know for a fact Hilda bought her copy on Friday morning. Either the printers are superquick in this part of the world or you must stop beieving everything you read in the media.

I'm happy he's done that if it stops other players using their colour to influence selection. It's clear there's been political interference in the selection of their teams. We saw it some years back with Percy Sonn and the Rudolph saga. It's reprehensible for someone to cast aspersions upon the character of someone who's actually supported him merely for his own means.

And whatever anyone thinks of Arthur as a man or coach, it's highly doubtful that anyone who has further aspirations in terms of international coaching would fabricate such a story.

And Ntini has rightly been commended for his career this week but he shouldn't be made out to be something he isn't.

Pakistan are capable of batting collapses ....South Africa is capable of running through a side ...South Africa would be favourites to beat Pakistan so Pakistan "losing" isnt exactly what the bookies want ...all alternatives to the possibility that Pakistan may have thrown the game

I actually remember that match. I went to bed thinking that Pakistan who had lost the test series, had salvaged something out of their hosting of SA because they were totally on the verge of making it 3-2. I was shocked to hear the scoreline on the news the next morning. From memory Albie Morkel did a lot of the damage. He's hardly a worldbeater with the ball.

I'm not saying that any of those explanations aren't plausible or even that it's more likely that match fixing was involved, but to merely mention the possibility of match fixing isn't that outrageous.

It was on Pakistani soil, poised 2-2 and the home team was looking to avenge its loss in tests, so not necessarily so.

That's because Taipan(in particular) has NOT proven to me that he actually means what he writes. The tone of his posts suggest that he is being dramatically sinister(an unfortunate trait of the human race ESPECIALLY common in the middle aged women of subcontinent) and is looking for nothing more than cheap entertainment by attempting to tempt me in to giving specific reasoning as to why Arthur's statements are so thickheaded.
