So, whitewash to the happy Lankans?

I tentatively dipped my toes back in the ODI waters for game 1. Quite enjoyed it until Johnson and Siddle were brought back on to bowl. Clarke annoyed the crap out of me with his "we needed to put more runs on the board" comment after the game. Needless to say I didn't bother with game 2. Whitewash away, Sri Lanka.

Yup. We totally suck at the moment and it's hard to see us overcoming the momentum and confidence the Lankans currently have.

Most Vics acknowledge that Siddle struggles to get a game with the Bushrangers in this form of cricket so are a bit bemused with his selection. Some research and anecdotal evidence suggests that fans are staying away because they don't think the team selection is fair dinkum. Noticed this got a run on 'The Offsiders' this morning.

FMD, Qunt M'Kay finally lands a few in the "right areas" and grabs a couple of quick ones. Seems to be some largish cracks in the Gabba deck.
Anyway Sanga's gone and that can't be a bad thing.

QM now gets rid of Mahela with a widish cutter. Excellent catch by ShyT at 2nd.

Bah, a full three stumps to aim at from a pitch length away and Starc misses the lot with Tharanga metres out of his ground.

Fairly good bowling by Watto, except for a few wides. Goodish one to get rid of the dangerous Tharanga.
Geez Silva looks like Mahela J. when he's batting.

I've always thought Silva batted more like a poor man's Aravinda.

So the top order has really failed in both their last matches. The big partnership at the death has obscured this in all our bemoaning of our own top order.

He doesn't scramble the seam and he doesn't sling it with his arm at 70 degrees.Nath wrote:what's the key difference(s) between his action and MJ?

Perhaps GSC is already having an effect. 4 younger players in today's squad.

If the pitch for the first ashes test is similar to this one then we could have a very interesting test match. Brisbane has been the quickest pitch in Australia for about six years now.

I'd laugh if the match was completed before the news.
