Fancy Aus to win the ODI's comfortably. No woofing.... if you had picked Tait from the beginning last year you would have won the series.

Shaun Tait, Australia's saviour.
If only he could bowl more than two overs in a row.

Will Nathan Hauritz have to play in his underpants now he's given all his kit away?
Re: Australia v England, 1st ODI, Melbourne, Jan 16, 2011
The girlie on Sky News here just said 'Australia has already lost the Ashes and the Prime Ministers XI match this summer'.
Like the PMs XI match means anything.

Seems strange that Aus would drop two of their better young batsmen in Ferguson and Marsh in favour of 33 year old David Hussey. Aren't they supposed to be rebuilding?

[Hilditch]We don't need to rebuild. We, as selectors, did a great job, it was the players who didn't perform to their potential. We'll keep picking the same blokes, and they'll come good in the end.[/Hilditch]

Their ODI side doesn't need rebuilding - they're still the team to beat in that format, no?
Re: Australia v England, 1st ODI, Melbourne, Jan 16, 2011
Maybe. But I thought they were pretty comprehensively beaten by Sri Lanka and India a few months back. And we beat them as well in June last year.

Not convinced by our bowling intelligence without Broad & Jimmykins so think Aus may take this series comfortably. Who will bowl the slower ball bouncers that have become our trademark?
Most interest will be on Bell at the top of the order, Davies, Morgs, & I guess also to see if Tremors still doesn't look the part in one day cricket.

Your bias is showing again.Henry wrote:Maybe. But I thought they were pretty comprehensively beaten by Sri Lanka and India a few months back. And we beat them as well in June last year.
The series in India was 1-0 with 2 washouts. The Sri Lanka series was 2-1 to the Lankans, one of those losses on a Duckworth-Lewis lottery, and another due to the ineptitude of Clarke as a captain.

Hehehe. D'oh...erty. Noice.
Reminds me of the time my father-in-law asked me the time and I told him "tooth-erty" and quick-as-a-flash he shot back "no, they're all false."

Australia 1 Shane Watson, 2 Brad Haddin (wk), 3 Michael Clarke, 4 Cameron White, 5 David Hussey, 6 Michael Hussey, 7 Steven Smith, 8 Brett Lee, 9 Xavier Doherty, 10 Doug Bollinger, 11 Shaun Tait.
This side doesnt fill one with a lot of confidence. There is at least six players who have question marks against their current form and, as Clarke showed in the ODI against the 'Lankans, he is utter carp as captain.

Word. Also no woof.
Swann, Yardy and Bres should go okay - it's Woakes and Shahzad where the runs will really leak.
Suspect England will be up against 280+ scores quite regularly, and I don't back the batting to top that often, if at all.
4-1, couple of games rained off.
Re: Australia v England, 1st ODI, Melbourne, Jan 16, 2011
We'll get Jimmy back at some stage won't we?
Australia may be better at this format but there's no excuse not to drive home the psychological advantage from the Tests. We have to further destroy their confidence and make sure they have no chance of winning a fourth consecutive World Cup...
