It might have worked for the WIndies way back when, but they had batsmen who could deliver the goods, and bowlers who could put the ball in the right place.
I may be wrong, but I fear that employing 'bully-boy' tactics will only work against minnows.

Sometimes I think it is a better option than spin. SA has pretty good test results there with no great spinners. Of course ODI's might be different.
