T20 at the Olympic Stadium
Looks like Wet Spam have won the bid for the Olympic Stadium
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-12412739
Which means that Essex will get to Stage some t20 games there. Given that we usually sell out our 7,000 capacity ground..... place could look very empty with 10,000 people in a 65k capacity stadium once converted from Olympic mode.

Re: T20 at the Olympic Stadium
Tottenham's plans were to dismantle the stadium in Stratford and build a new football ground in its place.
Nice one Spuds!
But cricket to be played at a ground with the running track still in place? How will that work?

So I guess they'll play some international T20s there as well?

Re: T20 at the Olympic Stadium
No way will England play T20 in London anywhere other than the Oval or Lords.
As for the track, West Ham will cover it with matting during football. Not sure of the dimensions for cricket but i'd presume the crowd would be a fair distance from the middle at either end - not a problem as i'm sure only certain sections would be open.

Re: T20 at the Olympic Stadium
Karen Brady said they've got a way of moving seats around and stuff so the running track gets covered.
Glad the Spurs proposal has been got rid of, I haven't paid my taxes so they can piss on promised legacy of the Olympic bid.

Even if the ECB have the promise of the windfall of a 40,000+ crowd?

I seriously doubt that a T20 international could ever generate a crowd of that magnitude.

We'll be having 5-match Ashes series with three of them in London before too long, no doubt...

Perhaps T20 finals day (four-teams, three matches) would get a good crowd in.
