Cricket at London's Olympic Stadium
I noticed this article in the Guardian.
Jacques Rogge says he doesn't want the Olympic stadium to become a white elephant.
Wouldn't it make sense for the ECB to put a claim on this ground so they could play Twenty20 and One-Day matches there?
It's already an oval shape - all it needs is turf over the tracks and a drop-in pitch.
England has some amazing grounds - Lord's is the home of cricket. But England could really do with one big stadium.

I heard a rumour that it could become West Ham's new home ground.

It has the necessary 10 000 seating capacity then?

Trouble is we play no other sports on an oval shaped ground?

It's funny because during an Ashes year, England could easily fill an 80,000 seat stadium for at least the first 3 days of a test, provided the prices were reasonable.

Exactly, it's a non starter building a 60,000- 80,000k cricket stadium that gets used so few times per year.

Should've turned the Millennium Dome into an indoor cricket stadium. Would've been sweet and unique - and a venue where rain/bad-light would never stop play.

If by "large", you mean 60k plus capacity, it would only get filled for an Ashes test or maybe a WC final, which on avaerage we are only get to stage once every 20 years. The economics don't make it worthwhile.
Lords, The Oval, Old Trafford and Headingly have redevelopment plans underway or in the planning stage, so there will be enough capacity at existing grounds in the not too distant future.

Concerts are held at Wembley of course.
Cricket just doesn't justify that capacity. All but once every 4 years it wouldn't be full imo

In any event, the stadium would require a significant rebuild to make it cricket-friendly.
