vilkrang wrote:Ok I'm actually not going to f**king bother anymore with this, I know exactly where it's heading, England will nab a couple of wickets when they need 30-40 more and then let the two number 11s f**k them to victory.
I genuinely wish England were already out, they didn't deserve this chance, f**K after the Ireland game they didn't even deserve another but after being given a 3rd chance they are still too sh!t to take it. I hate our ODI team so much and I just know that this will effect the momentum of our test team.
Stupid format anyway, T20 and test cricket are where it's at.
Thanks for stopping watching when you did though. Could've got a bit hairy otherwise.

No. Not loikley. Not impossible. Centrebet are paying 5.20 on the Bangladesh win and that's probably about right.
Still, we'll get to the final weekend and it will still be the case that any of India, Windies or England could drop out.

Yeah, you are a bit of a freakshow though.
I don't know about "ever hopeful" ...."ever tongue-in-cheeky" would be more accurate ... but he is a lovable scamp. Could be Dello in puckish vein.

Wright deserves to have his "star performer" status downgraded to "all right, I suppose" given the developmentally challenged way he got out.
Tredwell, I've always rated.
And about time.
In all honestly now, I've have consistently said that Tremlett just isn't suited to ODIs. He's got the tools for Tests, but his natural length is so spankmedaddy in the shorter form, it's just not worth it.
Also, he's made of fine china. So preserve him for the real stuff.
Re: World Cup 2011 (III)
He's another Hoggy. Worthy or better over 4/5 days - clubbable in ODIs.

I've only just got in and seen the score. I knew we were 100 odd for 2 but have been out and didn't even know he was in the side FFS.

You missed a truly bizarre game of suicide cricket. Or as Pete so perfectly summed it up: Last Clown Standing.
Re: World Cup 2011 (III)
So if we assume that Bangladesh and WI lose this weekend and that both Australia and SL win in their group (the boring one), the quarter finals could look like:
QF1: Australia v West Indies
QF2: Sri Lanka v England
QF3: New Zealand v India
QF4: Pakistan v South Africa
Then it would be QF1 vs QF3 and QF2 vs QF4. So possibility of an India/Pakistan or England/Australia final.

On form England should get to the final if they get to the QFs, they are undefeated against half decent teams...

Re: World Cup 2011 (III)
Can we play the Aussies in the QF?
It plays on my sense of humour that they bum-f'ked us in the ODI series and we have been gash all tournament yet knock them out.

I don't always get my predictions right, but with 15 wides in the 22 extras on the Eng scorecard, and a winning margin of 18 runs I'm claiming this one:
ever hopeful wrote:243 may well be enough. Some handy contributions down the order. I thought young Wides in particular had a very good knock- could well make the difference. Let's pick him again if we do go further.

I see Tremors as 5-0-47-0, not a good day then.
Edit: Bell 27 off 48 Ugh.... form of his life continues.

He's a funny player, Wides. Bit of a mercenary. Always seems to be at the top of his game against England, but chose to play for the good guys this time.
What an enigma.
Re: World Cup 2011 (III)
Any statisticians out there know roughly how badly India would have to lose for us to go through on NRR? Or is that practically impossible now?

Going by this, it's possible if Aus beat Pakistan and both SA and WI win OR both Bang and India win. Meaning 1st from group A (Aus) vs 4th from group B (Eng).
I think.
