The monarch can still grant knighthoods on Australian. I believe Sir David Smith was the most recent case some 20 years ago.

It looks like TGM was 'avin' a larf, but Her Maj could give a knighthood to hium if she desired. It would have to be for services to English cricket, or to charity. Given that he has 'served' many English women, some of whom were quite skanky, I reckon he could be knighted for his charitable services to English women.
