Mentioned him already. He scored a century in the 1938 match v. Hampshire in which John Arlott, then a 24yo police constable, fielded sub for Hampshire. It is notable that, apart from Pataudi, who would return to Test cricket after WWII as captain of the 1946 touring Indian side on which Arlott would commentate, Perks, Howorth and Jenkins in the Worcester side would all subsequently play for England. In addition, Syd Buller, the Worcester wicketkeeper, would become the leading Test umpire until his death 30 years later. His successor behind the stumps, Hugo Yarnold, would also become a Test umpire.
