Re: England vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Lords, June 3-7, 2011
Will Sri Lanka be tempted to call up Chaminda Vaas? Did he actually retire? Or was he just dropped?

The selectors said he retired, which he wholeheartedly denied. I think he's now since finalised it. Though I'm sure he could be persuaded to make a comeback.
Re: England vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Lords, June 3-7, 2011
Well even the selectors surely can't deny he's still better than any of their current attack. He would be a useful addition to the batting lineup as well at number 8.

Hi!
I saw Gazza's post, but some of them are gingery blonde. Jonny B is positively glowing red. Billings and Stokes look quite ginge. I'm not saying the rest aren't technically redheads, but I'm just looking for more colour here. Also, unless RHB has dyed it ginge, he's defo blonde. At Uni there were two very redhead guys in the 1stXI for about 3 years together. Other than that, it's rare.

The first team I posted was an Aryan XI (okay might have taken the Al bating a bit far). Corrected this and went for the proper Ginge XI afterwards. A few of them were borderline (eg Eoin Morgan) but I was trying to making it a good team too. Mark Davies is the strangest one - blonde hair, ginger beard. Either he is an Alistair Darling style freak of facial hair nature, or he goes to great effort to cover up his inner ranga.... then grows a ginger beard.
Re: England vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Lords, June 3-7, 2011
ah! The Aryan team makes sense now. I think there'd be more ginger/blonde beard and hair combos if more young guys had beards.

Should get a proper game of cricket - no rain forecast for London over the next five days, temperatures on the up, sun around and Lord's being a bit of a flattie.
Good times. Apart from the flattie bit.

Re: England vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Lords, June 3-7, 2011
Proper game of cricket if Sri Lanka show a bit of bouncebackability, otherwise it could be over in 3 days. The opening of Jade's pie shop might help their batsmen recover their confidence...

They batted with plenty of stickability in the first innings at Cardiff - certainly well enough to suggest that the second innings mega-collapse was an aberration rather than the tone of things to come.
Blimey, what a choice: Jade's pie shop or Finny's emporium of meh. Flip a coin, I say.

Re: England vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Lords, June 3-7, 2011
Interesting to see Stuart Law carry on the bollox regarding their strong batting line up. I'll say it again, a strong top 2-5 followed by someone at 6 averaging 30 and 7 averaging 19 does not a strong batting line up make.
Dernbach or Finn. You could make a case for each. As Dello says toss a coin.

Although 6 did score a hundred at the Betty Swalec's stadium, and 7-11 squeezed the best part of another hundred out of England.
I think they're pretty solid - especially when you think of Australia in the winter: get past Watto and you're into the tail.

I'm going on Sunday - anybody got a really good insult for Piranhasultana they want to get off their chest?
Re: England vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Lords, June 3-7, 2011
"You're mother was a fish who had sex with some grapes."
Might be a bit subtle though.

The subtler the better.
I still remember being at Old Trafford and a hundred beery locals launching into a chant of "You're not farming any more" at Paul Strang and Neil Johnson.
Would rather baffle the Piranha with shrivelled grape banter.
Re: England vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Lords, June 3-7, 2011
Piranhathefarmer. That could work.
Piranhabanana.
Piranhaobama.
The list is endless.

Wait...what? No thanks. Getting knifed on the street ain't my cuppa tea. I'll have to make do with the 2 hour highlights package at midday tomoz.

Are you sure it isn't hidden under the tennis via the red button?

Can you confirm it is hidden under the red button?
