Re: Aust A Tour 2011
They take on South Africa A today. I can't believe South Africa still have Loots Bosman on the fringes. Politics, eh....

He's Australia's next-in-line test opener these days, isn't he?

Aussies currently thumping the Saffies who are 8/106, still requiring over a ton for victory.

Why do Aus A never tour England?

Re: Aust A Tour 2011
They did once. I remember Justin Langer and co smashing the sh!t out of everyone once upon a when.
I've looked it up - 1995! Blimey, was it as far back as that?
Pretty decent batting line-up. Bowling's mince.

And it was Martin Love not Langer who seemed to be the run whore. The mind plays tricks...

No mucking around there. 1100 runs in 3 days - tidy.

Re: Aust A Tour 2011
Aus A toured England in 1989. Or at least I think it was Aus A. That squad was certainly welcomed to England as the worst Australian team ever, or something like that.
I can't recall how they went though.

Re: Aust A Tour 2011
1998, the last Aussie A tour to the British Isles. A wash-out.
Two FC games against Kent and Sussex rained off without a ball bowled, six one-day games against Scotland of which only three were played due to the weather, two three-day matches against the Jocks.
And then off to Ireland.

Re: Aust A Tour 2011
Since then, the Poms have been too weak to humour with an A side tour.

As atrocious as most af that team is. It would have been interesting to see how they would've went against the Poms of the time.

Hastings is having a good tour so far & Butters, after leaving the dank Moors of Scotland, seems to be getting his form back.

Hastings Butter from the Dubber Mid North Coast - grouse stuff. Seemingly the future of Aus cricket.

Re: Aust A Tour 2011
The next generation Aussie just got home against Safrica A thanks to a 28 run last wicket stand between Nathan Lyon & Trent Copeland. Mitchell Marsh was the best performer for Aus with both bat & ball. Callum Ferguson got 66 while Rudolph hit 90 for the saffies.
