So nobody cares?
Paksters ripping through the Lankans before lunch. SL 5-95 but Sanga is still there on 36*.

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Dubai (DSC), 26-30 October, 2011
since murali retired the lankans average 36.73 with the bat and 46.83 with the ball
they have lost 3 out of 13 matches, which is not a terrible percentage. but they have never been in a position to force a win thanks to their bowling
just as a comparison since murali's retirement lanka's batting average is the 3rd highest after england and south africa. their bowling average though is the worst, including bangladesh and zimbabwe

Shouldn't the thread title be "Pakistan v Kumar Sangakkara, 2nd Test"?

They said during the last test that Sanga averaged 40 as a keeper and 70+ without the gloves.
So Sanga>BCL>SRT

I don't think Sanga is a long way behind those two, actually.

Bit of a wag for the 9th wicket between the royal child murderer and someone who sounds like he is auditioning for an early Rock n Roll role ....
but not losing a wicket, Pakistan well in control after Day 1.

Good effort by Wally Gedera to almost make 50 at no. 10 to help the Lankans to a semi-reasonable 239. Wackies 2-90 in response.

Aye. Thought they'd be dusted for 170. Decent effort. My man Dhammika took out the openers but now looks like my man Azhar Ali is now in control.
Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Dubai (DSC), 26-30 October, 2011
Yeah, Azhar and Younis going well. 2-132.

Danny's man pulls it off - His first test century.

just noticed its his first test century. wonder whats the highest average for a player without a test hundred, with a minimum cut-off of 500 or 1,000 runs. azhar was probably somewhere near the top 10 mins ago

pakistan should now look to be a bit more positive. they dont want to make the same mistake as the first test of batting too slowly in the 1st innings and giving the lankans an outside chance of drawing this. misbah as always is just plodding along

These Wackies can play a bit when they put their minds to it and are not distracted by match-fixing. Agree with TO, they should now get on with it (seemed a pretty slow day) and get a big lead. Sanga will probably make 200 in the 2nd innings again to save the match.

Shiv Chanderpaul made his first humdred after about 20 tests, yet he maintained an average of close to 50 up to that point.

Good little cricketer - talented bat, good fielder, decentish leggies.

I'd missed the fact that the Wacky keeper, Adnan Akmal, is the younger brother of the two cheating Akmals. I wonder if he's a clean skin (*cough*).

Will Sanga bail out the Lankans again?
Two days to go, an awful lot of bailing.
