Fleas unleashes - Page 2 Empty Re: Fleas unleashes

I've mentioned before that - irrespective of his big scores in some games (I have the sense these contributions are rarely game-changing, but that may be a false impression based on my bias) - I don't believe in Clarke.

Meaning: I think he personally lacks any great substance, courage, moral fibre, bottom, oomph, maturity, call it what you will.

This episode only adds to that previous impression.

If Katich keeps cool and chooses his words carefully, this could be his chance (more than likely posthumous to his test career, but nonetheless) to blow the head off Clarke's personal credibility, and also hold Sutherland and his ilk up to greater public scrutiny. Which I feel would be a considerable public service.

Some would say that only adds to his previous offences - because you have to respect the national captain whoever he is, honour the relevant authorities, etc.

I would say, in cases like this, that is utter bullsh:t.

In cases like this, it is tantamount to a collaborator "only following orders".

agree with all that - Clarke is an overly entitled, precious, whiney sook

Katich has overwhelming public support on his side, and he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who will back down in the face of Clarke and Cricket Australia's rebukes.

I've got a feeling quite a few prominent ex Australian players are on Katich's side as well. It would be nice if they had the courage to put their TV contracts aside and say it publicly.

skully wrote:Mr. bucket's comments have merit. Fleas ain't no pretty boy, and his record has been outstanding in the past 3-4 years, and clearly did not deserve to be jettisonned when he was. Still, like Simon, I don't think we should hold our collective breaths.

...that is complete tosh...fleas - when he scored runs for Australia - did so at such a snails pace that our attack had less time to force a result...further, his record in running out 'team' mates was second only to that of Koala senior....his best performances - in terms of influencing matches won- was with the ball...which he refused to do for years...

after the serbo-chokarian incident he should have been instantly sacked from all forms of cricket

Hussey would be a transitional captain, obviously. Two years at best.

But not a bad choice, I think. Leaving only the question who would follow.

now Skully would say that is because I prefer to keep Vic players available for the more important domestic comp...oddly enough I think that would be an injustice..

none of the Vix with captaincy nouse are up the mark of representing the country...White is by far the best captain in the country but not good enough as a player to earn and hold his spot

I was out at North Sydney Oval for the one-dayer yesterday. The biggest cheer of the day came when Katich came out to bat.

It is telling that the whole country is behind Fleas and yet despise podge as a sooky-la-la for making not totally dis-similar comments.

I guess it just goes to show what the general public thinks of clarke

and victorians

being cheered at Nth Sydney by the local Bronny B branch of the Libs is hardly mass support

hmnn...the Q management lock out has apparently delayed the Fleas hearing...

article in the 'Hun notes that Clarke is pegged to play for the Dubbers in a Shield match in late November...which raises the prospect of the chokarian and Clarke prolly playing their last match together....the lucky beneficiaries are the Worriers who play the Dubbers in that match
