Re: The Walking Dead
A slight return to form in that episode I thought. At least some stuff actually happened and they didn't just sit round philosophising for 40 minutes.
We'll see.
We'll see.

Re: The Walking Dead
S05E12 – Nath’s right – it’ll be a stack of builder eps (like this one) followed by a ball-tearing finale. Still, a nice breather for the A-team.
- Spoiler:
- The A-team refuse to turn over their weapons once in Alexandria. Rick meets Queen Bee Deanna, an ex-Pollie. She films their first chat.
Alexandria grew due to her husband’s architecture skills & the supplies from an under-construction shopping mall – it allowed the wall to be built. Deanna says they need the A-team to survive. Rick seems to trust her. The A-team lay down their arms.
Aaron shows Rick & Carl to their new house (which the whole team occupies). They have their first shower in...well...years. Inexplicably, there’s electricity & running water. Rick cuts his beard off & looks 20 years younger. Jessie provides supplies & cuts Rick’s hair. Rick is overcome by these small comforts.
Michonne (who looks hotter each ep) is amused at the younger looking Rick. She says she has a good feeling – Rick hopes she’s right. Deanna smilingly checks in on them. You just know she’ll be an evil bitch. As the group sleeps, Rick stows a butcher’s knife from the cutlery drawer.
The group explores but Daryl stays put. Rick panics after fleetingly loosing Carl & Judith. Jessie calms him. Carl meets similar aged kids, Enid, Ron & bro. Carl laments to Rick that the town folk are weak & doesn’t want the group to weaken.
Restless Rick goes for a moonlit walk & meets Jessie’s creepy husband. Deanna’s interviews continue – as well as sounding out the group, she is looking for roles for everyone.
Rick goes outside the wall. Carl sees Enid sneak out & follows her. I’m betting they’ll become a thing. Aiden introduces himself to part of the group, & takes them on a supply dry-run. The part group get weapons. Tara is given a gun that looks familiar.
Rick goes back to the place he buried a gun, but it’s gone (it was the one Tara was given). Was he being watched at the time? Carl rocks up as a hoard approaches – they dispatch them easily.
Aiden tells Glenn, Tara & Noah that they do as he says & shows their pre-game ritual of poking a roped walker, but it’s gone. It quickly returns & Tara & Glenn knife it. Aidan gets the shits. Back behind the gates he & Glenn throw down. Daryl breaks it up. Deanna screams for calm, & thanks Glenn for bopping Aiden, who is a bit of a douche & needed a peg-down.
Deanna yells that they're all equals and then asks Rick & Michonne to be the police. Rick accepts & dons a sheriff uniform. The A-team is impressed. Rick, Carol and Daryl discuss weakness, with Rick declaring they’ll stay strong & take the town by force if necessary.

it was like a hodge podge of other episodes. hot water and housing (like at the CDC - season 1), building a community (like Woodbury)

Re: The Walking Dead
Rick will bang the hairdresser, Carl will get laid for the first time with that weird chick, Daryl will finally agree to a shower, and there will be some sort of ambush on the newcomers planned by scorned hairdresser's husband and the dumb jock who tried to tie up a walker and got punched by Glenn.
Someone surely must die. Eugene? He's the new Beth. No point to him being on the show now that we know he's not the key to solving everything. He just kind of mopes around, getting in everyone's way, contributing nothing. I'm surprised they didn't eat him rather than killing and eating the dogs two episodes prior.

Still there. In the background, just waiting until the writers decide they can use him to help fill up 40 minutes before he's killed off in the season finale. Another one who is destined to be killed sooner rather than later.

He's tidying up Alexandria's church, which no-one has used since the wall went up.

I'd prefer it if Maggie did the hairdresser. I'd drag my bollocks over a mile of broken glass just to hear her fart through a walkie talkie
Re: The Walking Dead
S05E13 – another Days of Our Lives scene setter for Nath’s season big finish.
- Spoiler:
- Sasha goes outside the wall & does rifle practice on some family photos. She’s spoiling to kill herself some walkers.
Rick, Daryl & Carol meet & plot to get their weapons, but will act cool, wanting the rest to settle in. They find a “dead” walker with “W” scratched in its forehead.
Rick & Michonne are uneasy about “smart” Deanna. Patrolling Daryl comes across Aaron, who seems to be following him. Deanna says she wants Maggie to help her start a government. The A-team is shocked at the lack of security. Sasha wants to man a watch tower.
Deanna throws a welcome party. Rick & Carol agree to grab their weapons during party time. Carol plays helpless old girl to Tobin, as she slips the weapons room window latch. Aaron attempts to soften up Daryl, who saves him from a tackling walker. They kill a hoard after it attacks “Buttons” the stray horse.
The A-team (less Daryl) warily attends the party. Rick meets Deanna’s husband Reg, who is impressed that Rick kept his 14 alive. Aaron convinces party-avoiding Daryl to have some spaghetti with his partner. Jessie’s hubby is a doc & seems more cordial this time. Jessie’s son Sam stamps an “A” on Rick’s hand.
Aaron shows Daryl an in-parts motor bike. He says he wants Daryl to assemble the bike and become an Alexandria recruiter, because he can spot a goodie from a baddie. Daryl accepts.
Young Sam springs Carol stealing weapons. Carol threatens if he tells she’ll strap him to a tree & let walkers eat him. Rick is clearly getting a twitch in his pants for Jessie. She also seems keen. Paranoid Sasha freaks out at Alexandria’s lack of appreciation for what’s happened to the world.
Daryl declines to take a gun from Carol. Michonne makes a wall ornament of her katana. Rick crosses pathes with Jessie & husband & instinctively goes for his gun. Ep ends with Rick leaning on the wall sensing a walker outside, seeming to almost miss his zombie brethren.

I can't see how it will be much different. Same 'ol same'ol. As it is set in LA maybe the Zombies will have better tans
Re: The Walking Dead
Hmm, can't see it being a winner. TWD has done a fine job of prolonging the single premise show for so long. Can't see a counselor in the apocalypse being a hit.

Re: The Walking Dead
S05E14 – hmmm, paradise unsurprisingly unravelling.
- Spoiler:
- The ep revolves around two major walker horde battles faced by 2 separate supply run teams. What transpires is the obvious cowardice of the Alexandrians vs the hardened bravery of the A-team.
One battle pans out in a warehouse where idiot Aiden blows up a flackjacketed, grenade-toting military walker, impaling himself on a jagged piece of steel & badly injuring Tara. Cowardly Nicholas leads to the walker mauling of pinned Aiden & later Noah, in a gruesome glass revolving door scene, where Glenn is forced to watch Everyone-Hates-Chris getting gorily torn apart by zombies. Eugene gets some redemption as he mans up getting Tara to safety & stopping the wimpy Nicholas leaving the group behind. Glenn is mega-pissed off.
The other battle happens as supply team 2 collects wall building material. Alexandrian Francine falls & is left for dead by her town folk. Abraham yells “Mother Dick!!”, becomes the Incredible Hulk, saves Francine & takes out dozens of walkers by himself as the Alexandrians cower behind trucks. Francine snots the leader of the group for intending to leave her to the walkers. Abraham is all “WTF is wrong with you clowns??”
Deanna hands over leadership of the construction crew to Abraham, but she questions herself for handing more responsibility to the A-team.
In other developments, young Sam avoids his family & pesters Carol for a gun but won’t say who it’s for. It seems Pete (Jessie’s husband & Sam’s dad) is a drunk & trouble, a point which leads Carol to tell Rick she needs to kill him. Cowardly Rev Gabriel visits Deanna & tells her the A-team are bad news that she shouldn’t have let in. Frowning Maggie listens in the shadows.
The shit is about to hit the fan in Alexandria.

Re: The Walking Dead
Really, we're all concerned about a bit of domestic violence now, in a world where people are getting their throats bitten out (by the good guys)?
Mother dick, indeed.
Mother dick, indeed.
- Spoiler:
- I don't understand the logic of sending such an inept group of combatants into the most potentially dangerous situation when they had Abraham, Daryl, Rick, Michonne on the sidelines. Limping Noah, Eugene and Tara? I mean, I get that the writers were trying to give them something to do for their paycheques , but even Carl - hell, perhaps even Judith - is more useful in a clinch than those meatsacks.
Nice of Gabriel to thank the group for keeping him alive for all this time by selling them out. Not that it would be the first time he barricaded himself in to protect number one and left those outside to die.
I suspect it's not going to work out great for him, ultimately.
As Mudge might say, it's been a bad few weeks for black people on TWD.

- well, Rick DID hack that cannibal guy to death with a machete in the church, much to Gabriel's horror, when a simple bullet to the head would have sufficed. And isn't the suggestion in regards to Carol and Rick talking about killing the guy for slapping his wife and kid around a bit that killing people (at least people not in their group) now means very little to them?
They've all basically become sociopaths.

Re: The Walking Dead
S05E15 - the divide grows.
- Spoiler:
- Ep revolves around the increasing divide between the A-team (well part of it) & the Alexandrians, and Sasha's nutty walker hunting therapy.
Naturally, cowardly Nicholas tells a bullshit side of the warehouse story & says the A-team are bad news & should be punted. Glenn corners him later & tells him he doesn't go outside the walls again, or else.
Rick tries to do something about wife-bashing Pete but Deanna says they've tried before. She tells Rick straight that his "kill Pete" solution is not on.
While Tara mends, Michonne and Rosita track walker-hunting Sasha through the pine trees. She's a bit cracked, the old Sasha. She even gets the shits with saviour Michonne when she is attacked by a walker after her gun jams.
Enid & Carl have a playful gallivant in the woods after she calls him on his stalking. They hide in a hollow tree to avoid the shamblers, & almost kiss. The may be some adolescent rooting in the wind.
Elsewhere, Daryl & Aaron come across more "W" marked bodies, including one tied to a tree for the walkers to feast on.
Rick urges Jessie not to tolerate Pete's abuse. She agrees, but Pete is livid & attacks Rick. They end up rolling around in the street trying to choke each other. After Rick overcomes Pete, he goes on a bloody-faced rant at how the weak Alexandrians need to fight to survive. The rant is surprisingly ended by Michonne when she KOs the Sheriff.
So it seems Rick, Sasha and Carol can't adapt to life on the "inside", while Glenn, Michonne, Rosita & others (who we didn't see any of in the ep) want to "Try".

After a couple of half-decent episodes, we're back to (largely) filler. Then the significant event happens in the last 5 seconds.
