Travel warning
Anyone travelling to Africa might want to steer clear of Kampala.
"Uganda's president has warned against shaking hands and other physical contact after the first death from the deadly Ebola virus in the capital Kampala."
-------------------------------------------------------
As Jesse from Breaking Bad says "It's a disease on the Discovery Channel where all your intestines slide out of your butt?"

Re: Travel warning
A bad day for Indian people
"The world’s largest blackout ever crippled roughly half of India for a second consecutive day on Tuesday, sending officials scrambling for an explanation.
The power failure spread across 22 of the country’s 28 states, an area whose population is nearly 700 million, almost 10 percent of the world’s population. Hundreds of trains stopped across the region and, in Delhi, the subway system stalled, and massive traffic jams collected as traffic lights stopped functioning."
-----------------------------------------------------
"Scrambling for an explanation"???? COARIAB.
Nearly 700 mill affected. Now THAT's a blackout.

Modi probably runs the main Generating company. Skimmed all the profits and put nothing back into maintenance.

Re: Travel warning
geebers......I have a JGK proportion travel curse...
I am off to Manila in October and am already cancelling an activity in an area suddenly over run by pirates
I am off to Kampala next year and it seems ebola is the tasty flavour of the month there
I already have Pomgolia off the list - travel wrnings about freckles, chavs and exposure to Hooray Henry types
and intra Oz travel is already difficult...have been banned from chip central

Re: Travel warning
yeah it is. though that part of india (north and east) has electricity supplied to less than half the population, so for 350 million people it was just another day. the western and southern states in contrast have a coverage of over 90%
its not entirely uncommon either as well. most of those northern states draw more power than they are allowed to, hence the collapse of the entire northern and eastern grids. this despite repeated warnings from regulators and punitive fines. hopefully this convinces the officials in the western grid to try and stay away from full integration with the national grid
