Usain Bolt to play for the Melbourne Starts T20 team?
Is he any good? I've heard he was a fast bowler as a schoolboy, but he jokes that he ran in faster than he bowled. Surely it's a publicity stunt that will fizzle out in the coming months, but Shane Warne has said that Bolt wants to give it a go.

I thought it was a one off game.
If this is the case then I seriously believe he will play.

It would preserve t20's status as a joke, not serious sport.

He'd probably make a decent bowler if he slows his run up down to the speed he usually finishes his races in. Waving to the crowd a ten yards out from the crease might affect his accuracy though.

Apparently Blake & Ponting have been exchanging tweets & Ponts has invited him to turn out for the Hurricanes. Seems Blake is quite a handy cricketer.

They would make a decent opening pair, height and bounce and shorter and skiddier... that's if they can land it on the strip of course? Weir and Powell to complete the four-man pace attack?

Bolt could afford to hire the MCG & the current Test XI for a day & if he wants to mess around with cricketers.
The T20 thing ain't gonna happen.

Still - it would pay for itself wouldn't it. Imagine Bolt and Warne at the G against say whoever Chris Gayle plays for. It would draw 50k plus.
The Stars wouldn't GAF if they lost the match.

Until it does or doesn't happen wtf really knows. Wpould Bolt's management tolerate the risk of injury or making an arse of himself?

I can't imagine he'll play in the Big Bash League proper. It's more likely he'll make an appearance in a well publicised warm up match, perhaps involving a charity.

Remember the Andrew Johns stunt? He now has a Cricinfo profile having offically played two T20s.
Whereas poor ole Les Johns (who was a very talented cricketer) does not have a Cricinfo profile. However he does have a Cricket Archive profile.

I think Warnie just wants Usain to be his runner
Ranatunga has also expressed his interest
