Re: Quito a turn-up for the books
I think it's you that's embarrassed yourself which any amount of ad hominem abuse will not cover up.

Well we all knew you'd think that.
Do you remember this?
"The rape allegations are complete nonsense. Both women complainants, whom Assange met at a seminar in Sweden, one of whom introduced the other to him, colluded with one another after they discovered he had been two-timing them. One had thrown a party for Assange the day after she claimed to have been raped, the other bought him breakfast and gave him money for his train fare. Both admit they had consensual sex but there is a strange Swedish law that if you don't use a condom if the woman asks you to it's "rape"."

Yep, the last part is total bollocks as there no such Swedish law - the refusal to use a condom is, as in English law, an aggravating factor in cases of sexual assault. Some of us can be fooled some of the time, some of us can be fooled all of the time. The only question I would ask is, if the above is true, and it may well be, why is he so reluctant to return to Sweden and cross-examine his accusers? The argument that he would be immediately extradited to the US just doesn't add up. If you are innocent, you act innocent, if not, you don't.

Good times.
Guess Assange is still in the Embassy, and that wanker Allan D is still devouring pro-Republican Wikipedia links like a fellating rent-boy, when not accessing child pornography.

in more detail, since perhaps you weren't around during that particular period of taim bipo:
Did you perhaps miss Allan's famous 'deleting frenzy' flounce? The 'Disney thread'? Truckling and the difficulties of accessing bananas and oranges during WW2? His penchant for posting entire cut-and-paste Wikipedia links in praise of the Republican Candidate Of The Day?
Much recycling ...

Re: Quito a turn-up for the books
I knew he was mostly harmless and somewhat amusing.
Quoting some historical act, affair, treaty or something to back up some nonsensical point of view normally set him off and could be quite diverting for a while.
I thought I'd made some of the shit up but he managed to find the references and gave me faith that some of the long term memory brain cells survived the ravages of the lost years.
I did a pretty basic search and seemed to have disappeared for a bit in aug 2012. May have been on an Olympics binge.
Still. A quality bit of forming all round lards considering how low the bar had been set by then.
