Probably understandably, this one is getting a big "meh" from our English comrades.

Very poor batting display from the Saffers. Looks like England is back to #1 after this match. Gosh AB has had an ordinary tour!!

Believing their own publicity. Their batting looks wafer thin today, even on paper. Maybe an unbalanced side.

Maybe they are just undercooked. Makes as much sense as your latest comment

Don't you think that Parnell coming in at #7 makes them look unbalanced? Elgar doesn't convince.

Parnell should be 7 or 8. Peterson can bat. 2nd match, so your point is.

My opinion is that you have bowlers from #7 down and with Elgar who doesn't look much of an ODI player, the patchy du Plessis, and out of form AB it leaves your batting pretty thin on the ground. Sooky doesn't bat quickly in one dayers any more either. Too much is expected of Amla and of course Kallis is rested.

And my considered opinion is that you don't know much about cricket. As per usual you are talking utter shite. Did you even know that Parnell opens in ODs in SA. The usual crap about you trying to squeeze your theories in without knowing the facts.

Re: England v South Africa, 3rd ODI, The Oval, 31 August, 2012
I have indeed seen him open, in fact against NZ, but you know that he's not exactly a bona fide batsman even if he's done well (in first class cricket a lot) in ODIs. It's a big ask when the specialist batsmen struggle to expect him to make the difference with the bat. I'm just saying the batting looked thin on paper and it's performed accordingly. Apart from Amla, there aren't too many in the line-up in stellar batting form so it was always a risk. We'll agree to disagree. You think it's a decent batting line-up, I think it's one of the more unbalanced ones SA has put in the field in recent times. Of course you know lots about cricket - you told us all how shite Philander was.

Chavi gone despite review - nothing on Hotspot but a clear sound meant it was inconclusive so the on-field decision stood. Not having much luck at the moment is he... we could still lose this!

Highest England ODI 4th wicket stand v. SA at The Oval beating Tresco & Freddie's 44 in June 2003.

Not the most spectacular of records to break, but suspect they've only met in 3 or 4 JAMODIs there...
Anyway, Trott runs out Beddy but seems too little too late for England to throw this one away!

They did their best, decelerating and giving away wickets simultaneously!
So without much ado, one prong of the trifecta cracks off immediately, and the hat trick returns to a double.
How quickly fortunes change in the oddity that is cricket. "Those twin imposters", etc.
Maybe just as well SAf are not playing Oz in a Test yet!

Dozed off at 2-100 with ABdV going well thinking this is following the normal script. But I see Jimmeh and Dirtbag sorted the Yarps and then Trotski and Leprechaun batted well in the chase.
Well done to England in grabbing the revolving no. 1 spot back.

Looks like both these teams are as ordinary as each other. Always thought that Miller was unlucky not to stay with the squad. He looked promising, Elgar looks poor. Surely they must have someone up and coming better than him. Dernbach actually bowled well for a change.

So this is the poor England team that demolished Aus 5-0 a couple of months ago.

Yes but Australia is not great either and it was undercooked.
