H. Do you know how many times I've sat in pubs arguing moot cases? This ain't going anywhere. As you pointed out in a previous post there's more than enough quasi judicial bodies for courts to handball to this stuff to.

I've never read "the dingo did actually eat my baby" judgement purely because it would be pointless and to argue that point of view in the territory would shorten my lifespan. I just assumed she'd availed herself of some crap relief.

Aye. That was pretty much what we were doing back in the day.

The one Court case I am really interested in is the Cth v the Timor spying whistleblower (witness K) and his poor brief, Bernard Collaery. Last I saw the whistleblower had pleaded guilty but Collaery was contesting charges. The Court proceedings and all evidence is in camera with the accused denied access to information against them held by the Cth. All in all it is a classic Star Chamber meets Kafka.

Old money - Downer and Woodside are central to this story. The machinations in the Cths own position, inc the shifts between Brandis and Porter's approach as AGs, are of great interest. I doubt the true story will be known for a long time.

Fear of judgement is the mark of guilt and the burden of insecurity.

Sorry that's all I've got.  I made a shitload of money representing areseholes.  Prosecuting them is problematic, throw in a sovereign govt and an FOI proof Dept, good luck.  I'd personally like to see Downer rot in hell but wishing ain't gonna make it happen.

Turns out his lechery was a well known secret within legal circles for years. It's strange that a wealthy elite white man could get away with such things for so long

The process was flawed, biased and has left the court with a future conflict of interest. I know because I saw it on SKY.
