Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Just got polled by Newspoll for the NSW election. The lady doing the poll, "Jess", sounded like she was 12 and asked me if "Mike Bard" was doing a good job.
I was tempted to say I was going to vote for the Sex Party but alas they aren't running in my seat this time.

Crikey, Foley is getting desperate as the NSW State Election looms.
"NSW Labor leader Luke Foley has suggested the Chinese communist government could spy on Australian army and air force bases and federal parliament and cut power to them if the state’s electricity network were sold to Chinese interests."
------------------------------------------
It's funny what shitty polls will make the pollies say.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Newman's pet Chief Justice slammed:
QUEENSLAND Chief Justice Tim Carmody has been accused of verbally abusing judges, meddling in court protocols and seriously lowering morale within the state's judiciary.
IN his retirement address on Thursday, Supreme Court Justice Alan Wilson said Chief Justice Carmody was responsible for alienating his colleagues by calling them "snakes" and "scum".
The distinguished Justice Wilson - who was the inaugural president of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal - also criticised his former boss for not presiding over enough cases himself in favour of media and ceremonial engagements, likening his position to a "full-time PR role".
He also sensationally suggested the chief justice had improperly meddled with protocols of appointing judges to the Court of Disputed Returns.
The electoral court was under the spotlight this year given a potential government-deciding by-election in the seat of Ferny Grove after the cliffhanger state election, ultimately lost by the sitting LNP government.
"In the teeth of a possible contest about the outcome ... in one electorate, the chief justice's initial attempts to contest the automatic operation of that protocol, and then his attempts to speak privately with the next nominated judge (about) what he described in a memorandum as 'unresolved concerns' was unanimously condemned by the judges," Justice Wilson said.
The former Newman government had controversially promoted Mr Carmody, the 58-year-old former chief magistrate, to Chief Justice last June even though he had not served on the Supreme Court bench.
Some senior judicial figures were highly critical of the appointment, questioning his experience and noting his lack of peer support.
In his withering attack, Justice Wilson claimed there had been an attempt to sack a senior judge, Justice John Byrne, which was abandoned when it was met with severe disapproval.
He said this in turn had dampened spirits and distracted judges from their day-to-day work.
"(This), at least partly, explains a serious loss of morale within the court," he said. "I hear judges at all levels of seniority speaking seriously of resignation."
Justice Wilson said the judges had still managed to maintain a "dignified silence", but many lacked any respect for their senior.
"He has on different occasions referred to (judges) collectively as 'snakes' and 'scum'," he said.
"Both the remarks and that kind of hypocrisy have a devastating effect on morale."
Justice Wilson also hit out at the Chief Justice for not sitting in an actual hearing since February 15 this year.
"Traditionally, what judges do is sit in courts and hear and decide process," Justice Wilson said.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Election Day in NSW. The highly likeable Mike Baird should get back in. The interesting thing will be which nutters will get in into the Upper House and possibly hold the balance of power.
Im off to vote and get my sausage sandwich shortly.

It was bloke, about 80 years old I reckon . In any case the ALP candidate was that nob James Wheeldon (the so called ASIC whistleblower) so no chance I would vote for him.
The Greens lass on the other hand was quite lovely.
Was a tough choice in my electorate though - who to put last out of the Christian Democrats, the No Land Tax nutters or the Cyclists Party. In the end I could go past Fred Nile's mob.

No sausage sizzle in Paddo. Seems the greens have had an influence.
Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
ABC have already said the LNP have 48 seats.
Interestingly, the projected primary vote for the Liberal - National coalition is 45.7% whereas the ALP and Greens combined is 46.5%.

I suppose the NSW ALP were even more on the nose than the Federal ALP were, and for even longer, so even your average SGDT will be reluctant to return there (to ALP land) for a little while.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
A few traditional Labor seats returned to their old Pinko voting habits and there was the predicted backlash in the Hunter and Central Coast over the ICAC illegal funding shitfights, to give the Pinks 30-odd seats (up from the embarrassing 23 they held after the 2012 demolition). Still the 2nd worst ever result for the Stoopid Pinko Lefty Qunts in Dubber. At least Foley didn't get up like farkwit Krudd and more-or-less proclaim victory when in fact he was smashed.

Meh, the Pinkos will inevitably stab three leaders in the back over the next term, leaving the electorate to shake their heads and say "Baird's a nice bloke - not like those knifing pricks in the Pinko Party - better vote for him".
