Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Gladys Berejiklian is giggling. Foley had been making ground on her recently.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Reminds me of John Brogden.
He was a lay down misere to become the next Premier but made a lame racist joke (again drunk at a party) at the expense of Bob Carr's wife, and disappeared into oblivion and depression.

I saw Brogden eating lunch at the MLC Centre last week. He seemed content with life.

Yeah, he worked his way out of the black hole and is doing fine these days. Recently appointed CEO of Landcom.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
There is something about NSW politics. It attracts the most vile grubs on all sides of politics.
Latham running on Hanson warlock/witchipoo ticket encapsulates it.
There has no doubt been worse (Spiro Askin for those old enough to remember) but for me Ian McDonald is the epitome. Prolly did not make as much as others but I met the arsehole in the 70s when he was a chancer. Made my skin crawl then - hope he is enjoying gaol time.

Tas Labor have backflipped on their agreement with the Greens to have gender removed from birth certificates. Seems they pulled their heads out of their arses long enough to gauge the mood of the people.

With almost everyone having voted and the shithouse weather it could be a glum day for the sizzler charities.

Re: Trouble in Aus State Politics
Thanx Blackadder and Qmy.
The Brown Shirts have been routed. The fascism and racism of the national and State Libs has been utterly repudiated.
Traditional tory seats like Hawthorn have fallen. Even heartland blue blood seats like Brighton have only been narrowly held. The Greens have been stymied.
Time for any decent Tory people to demand that Federal Brown Shirts like Dutton, Anazi, Andrews, Christensen, Abbott and others of such ilk immediately lose pre-selection.

Aye qmy. It was a massive boot in the head for the Duttons, ScumMos, Andrews, Abbotts and Anazis.
These mincing bovver boys, like Nazi refugees fresh from burning down the Reichstag after hanging out in dens of Iniquity with charismatics and other religious leather fetishists have nowhere to go.

Libs ran a terrible campaign, to be honest. they won't be getting back in for a long time, it seems.

Aye. Campaign relied largely on fear and racism. Mathew Guy's record as providing millions for his Lib Party mates did not help. One of the chief burners of the Reichstag aka Turnbull (Michael Kroger) may finally cop his comeuppance.
The extreme right control the party machine. Most folk, in Victoria at least, do not buy into their fascist views.

Transport Matters Party get 0.6% of the vote and look like getting 2 upper house seats. Greens get 9.6% of the vote and look like getting 1 upper house seat.

Oh well that is certainly a view. Enjoy your toasting of a few Senegalese, workers' rights and women on your Reichstag fire.

Bit of a stroke by the ALP all the same, putting up John Kennedy in Hawthorn, but it will only work once....the hunt for a Peter Hudson to run against him next time has already started
