On the back of a Pommy Basher unbeaten ton, Boof's Heat go through to the Final. They dropped 4 catches (all sitters) to keep the Renegades in it, but you just sensed that the Vomits were always gonna fall short. Bernie has completely farked Aaron Finch.

Disappointing for the Renegades after qualifying so easily. They conceded too many runs.

TGM has made a bit of a blue....last night he thundered about the sports science types preventing Oz Patto playing for the stars in the semi final...but that he was allowed to play in grade cricket match over the weekend (bowled well apparently)...TGM however had forgotten that OP is ineligible as the Stars took him off their contract list when he first became injured... CA are having a bit of fun with him

Darren Berry did previously say that they were advised by CA that Patto would be out of action for longer than he was and so they should get a replacement.

So they've relied on CA's advice and now CA won't change the rules to something sensible.

Stars going ballistic:

14.4
Beer to Hodge, SIX, another full toss and Hodge goes big over deep mid wicket, wowee!
14.3
Beer to Hodge, 2 runs, in the slot on off, slog sweeps out to deep mid wicket, the first one in a while that hasn't been hit cleanly
14.2
Beer to Hodge, FOUR, full toss outside off and he crunches it over cover, the Stars are on fire
14.1
Beer to Hodge, SIX, full toss and Hodge goes hard over long on, this is incredible

End of over 14 (26 runs) Melbourne Stars 132/1

13.6
Hogg to White, SIX, and he goes again, incredible stuff, doesn't quite get to the pitch of it but sends it high over mid wicket
13.5
Hogg to White, SIX, in the slot this time, White just drives straight through the line hard and high over long on, pure hitting
13.4
Hogg to White, FOUR, full on off and he clubs it straight down the ground to long off, great strike
Free hit coming up for White, look out...
13.4
Hogg to Hodge, (no ball) 1 run, full toss above waist height, pulls to mid wicket, perhaps missed out there Hodge
13.3
Hogg to White, 1 run, full and punched to long off
13.2
Hogg to White, SIX, full outside off, gets down for the slog sweep and he gets all of it, 93 metres up onto the hill
13.1
Hogg to Hodge, 1 run, full and driven to long on

12.6
Beer to White, SIX, backs away and opens his shoulder right up as he drives hard and high over long off, great shot

Stars on fire but stymied by the rain.

Of course bowling a no ball on the last ball didn't help.

Rain basically stuffed up what would have been a 200 chase. Crappy Perth weather!

More crappy captaincy from Warne giving Keath a bowl.

Faulkner choked again, Bird choked. Not good considering all the money they spend on the likes of Viv Richards.

Marsh MOTM. White a bit unlucky because he was on fire when the rain came.

Usually if you are on fire you'd welcome the rain.

Very exciting game though. It was a bit of Stosur v Novotna at the end there.

Well metaphorically speaking of course but D/L games like that are not as exciting as it should have been because the team batting second even though they have fewer overs usually wins because it's easier with a smallish number of overs and ten wickets intact but harder to sustain the chase over 200.
