Was thinking that too. Normally you'd rail against any tv interference but last summer they seemed to rest players at inopportune times and had no idea what their best team was. They always seemed to be worried about the next event or series rather than the current one.

Guess if you get a big increase in revenue you will pay for it somewhere along the line.

appalling dross from charnel nein....no doubt they are also being pressured by their advertsiers such as KFC..who will want the players in their ads to be the first selected...a smart player manager would do all they can to get their charge on to a KFC advertisement - their selection would be assured. moreover the ads are usually made in Sydney and that would ensure plenty of spivs get the spots in the ads and ergo selection...expect maddison and sandhu (latter to specialise in hot and spicy) as well as warner, starc and guest spivs (the 2 Mitch's) to appear in next summers ads)

How I wish the rights had gone to Channel 10. Nine needs to realise the fact they payed over the odds for the rights doesn't entitle them to jack squat.

If Nine can't run their business properly that's their fault.

Having said that, I agree they probably couldn't do a worse job than the current selectors. And isn't this just a return to the past? I mean, Packer personally picked the squads for World Series Cricket.
