OK - so when does he bowl? If I was Pup I'd give him the ball for the 10th over just in case he needs reminding game's still on

The pitch is flat and I would have accepted a 60 run deficit at the conclusion of England's innings yesterday. Unfortunately, the manner of the concession of that deficit will have drained England. Whether they have the mental strength to overcome that, I do not know. Personally, I doubt it. I think this England team is a shambles at present from top to bottom. Flower and Cook provide little actual leadership, and that is reflected in their results together - other than in India.
England can win this match from here, but it will be off Cook or Pietersen's bat it they do.

It's the Ashes, but it's a game.

England have plenty of time now to capitalise on the conditions and make up for their first innings.beamer wrote:So is 65 a winning lead on this? Much could depend on how Agar bowls, unless we just tamely capitulate to the seamers again, which is a strong possibility.
Less than 3 out at stumps and the game is still in the balance.

Early prediction - Pattinson to get 20+ wickets in this series, if he plays all matches.

It's amazing how much two runs can mean.
If Agar gets his hundred it doesn't matter what happens after that. Australia are 100% jubilant.
But by stopping him getting that fairytale 100 England get something to smile about and the Aussies come down a notch.
Test Cricket. It's just too much sometimes.

I reckon workload played a bit factor there too. 3.5 bowlers sharing the load is not enough.

Poor start from Patto.
England need about 250 to be safe.

So what would England feel remotely comfortable with? 300 run lead?

Looking on the bright side (from a Pom point of view): Neither opener has got a blob.

This is what I find hard to explain to my non cricket-watching mates. They can't understand why I'd prefer to spend 5 days watching a Test than spend 3 hours watching no-marks slogging a ball about in a T20.
This is why Test cricket is completely, totally, utterly, infinitely better than limited overs cricket.

So will the same Aussies who said that Rogers wasn't out now say that Root WAS out?
