Area of the human foot is VERY large...

Human foot really amazes me. Such a LARGE area, does any one know why is the human foot so big?

some theories:

- a vain attempt to stop people putting them in their mouths

- squash more grapes with fewer treads

- so they don't slip off the accelerator so easily

- so that eejits can be kicked in the bollocks and up the arse with one well placed kicking

Also, if they weren't as long from top to sole, they wouldn't reach al the way down to the ground.

Some of these answers are just silly.

The reason is obvious: to fit inside a human shoe.
