Steve Bucknor won't umpire at 3rd test
ICC has assured that Steve Bucknor will not be umpiring in the third test.
Re: Steve Bucknor won't umpire at 3rd test

What difference does that make? India has already lost the trophy. The damage has been done. It was done a good 3 years back and ICC didn't sack that old coot though it was established that he was as blind as a bat a long back. How is this going to help India now anyways? To all who say that bad umpiring decisions even out in the end, in India's case it never did. In 2002 such crap umpiring costs us a series win in WI when both on field umpires and even third umpires didn't give clear Stump outs, run outs, caught behinds and LBWs to Hooper and Chanderpaul in all the four tests. Bucknor's refusal to see plumb LBWs last time in Sydney in 2004 ensured Hayden and Ponting long enough stays at the crease on the last day to help avoid defeat. And now we have lost out on a potential Trophy again. This is probably the last time we will see greats like Ganguly, SRT, Kumble, Laxman and Dravid play in Aus and India’s best chance of winning a rubber here and what a farce it has degenerated to? Bucknor did what he had clearly set out to do. He ensured that Aus would not lose the rubber. What more was there left for him to do than what he has already done? How will ICC compensate such rubber losses when these wrongs ones go just one team the whole series and don’t even themselves out?

Re: Steve Bucknor won't umpire at 3rd test
India didn't lose the test because of the umpires.
They didn't create enough after the first innings poor decision against Symonds and then they let the Aussies score 400 for 4 odd in the 2nd.
It's just whinging of the highest order. Both sides had the same poor umpires.

There was not a poor decision. There were poor decisions. 3 clear-cut, one not so much.
And yeah this match was lost because of the umpiring.

What more can bowlers do after getting a player out 3 TIMES and if the umpires and even third umpires can't see it? No one is whinging. Fact is umpires have all acted in the most suspicious manner.

Re: Steve Bucknor won't umpire at 3rd test
The Indians made mistakes during 4th innings no doubt. But the role of the umpires was vital in breaking very crucial partnerships.
And 8 of their poor decisions came against India and only 2 against Australia.

Re: Steve Bucknor won't umpire at 3rd test
So India are the first team in the history of cricket to get poor decisions go 3-1 against them?

India still should have batted out a draw, we were hard done by in kolkatta in 2001 when India got some very dubious ones their way but we lost that match because of the reckless play by the other batsmen.

Well Bucknor's past record towards India also does not help.
I don't know if you were watching the it live, but after a while even the Indian players gave up on the umpires. The Aussies on the other hand were getting cocky because they knew they were getting away with murder.
If that is not a smear on the institution of cricket, then nothing is.
Re: Steve Bucknor won't umpire at 3rd test
Symonds patting Bucknor's back after he gave Dravid out, was blatantly disgusting to watch.

Interesting to have blind umpires screwing a team again and again and always still getting matches against the same team from ICC roster and not getting kicked out despite serving 17 years and getting poorer and none the better. Anyways what difference will replacing Bucknor now make? The series has been lost. The damage done. And in the end Ponting will get the final say on who should be given out in Indian team. he is the real umpire out there. All the umpires need to do is look at Punter and not at Indian batsman to check if the batsman is out or no. So what’s the point ICC?

Quite. I can't abide all this 'umpires cost us the match' BS
Hell, if Indias appeal is succesful England will have to put in a complaint about the SL series where we were on the rough end.

Bat, you're just emotionally ranting there with no substance at all.
Are we convieniently forgetting the 1st test at Lords and the non lbw decision in the dying moments?
Whatever happens, the 3rd test will make good viewing
