He's had an awful year, anyway.
But then, so had Graeme Smith.
But then, so had Graeme Smith.
Re: Pakistan v South Africa, 2nd Test, Dubai, 23-27 October, 2013
He's been out a few months. Should know by March either way.

Yep that would be the one. The one who got 134 test wickets @ under 33. Of course one of his comtemporaries would be the great Ashey Giles who got 143 @ over 40.Merlin wrote:Was he the fella who looked like he was about to give himself a blow job just at the point of delivery?horace wrote:rofl...i still get a laughtaipan wrote:Haven't had a spinner since Paul Adams

55.5
Mohammad Irfan to de Villiers, no run, edged but I think the keeper has put it down! What a let off for AB first ball! Irfan pitched on a testing length and got the ball to jag across AB, who prodded outside the off stump and got a thick edge. Akmal dived to his right and got a glove to it but dropped it

Shiva, out stats man, has sent me this: "No other batsman has more centuries (than Smith's 17) in wins, without scoring one in a loss. Other batsmen in this list are Bell (14), Greenidge (14), Slater (11), Boycott (10), Hammond (10)...."

Surprised you didn't mention that he has just passed Hayden in terms of runs as opener leaving him behind only SG. Lol at JGK highlighting AKMAL's drop. They never learn.taipan wrote:Shiva, out stats man, has sent me this: "No other batsman has more centuries (than Smith's 17) in wins, without scoring one in a loss. Big transformation from first test but still maintain that SA was undercooked.

BTW Smith has just brought up a double ton and 9000 runs in test cricket in one fell swoop. The countdown is now on for JGK.

Woah!! A triple hundred stand between Sniffy and ABdV. Nice work them, and for the double and ton & a half.
Only Stain's wicket to show for a day of hard yakka for the Wackies. So they go from stunning win to horrendous loss in 2 Tests. That is just so Wackie.

Is Graeme Smith the most underrated opening batsman of all time?

It's all going pear shaped for Pak:
148.3
Mohammad Irfan to du Plessis, no run, oh, Irfan's been sent off for wandering into the danger zone. He steps too close on his follow through and the umpires had cut short his spell. It was otherwise a straight forward bit of cricket as Faf moved back to punch the back of a length ball into the covers.

As far as I am concerned he can step into the danger zone as much as he likes.JGK wrote:It's all going pear shaped for Pak:
