Re: RIP Mrs Skully
So very sad to hear the news, Skulls.
The Chief sounded like she was an absolutely first class lady -may you and your girls take comfort and solace from that fact in the days and weeks ahead.
Will be thinking of you at this sad time.

Condolences to you and your family Skully, if it's any consolation at least the Chief is at peace and not fighting against the Cancer. As I am relatively nearby let me know if anything needs to be done, and will see what i can do..

I wonder if you could Sticky this thread for a while - as you did with the tribute to mynah?
I think it would be fitting.
And I think it would show the Forum at its most thoughtful, as well.
Hello PeterCS
I apologise for missing this request from yesterday.

Re: RIP Mrs Skully
Thank you all so much for the lovely thoughts and wishes in response to Woody's kind gesture. It's been a very tough few weeks, but people have just been so fantastic.
The eldest noticed the Chief's sudden stark jaundice on Thurs 20 March, so we had to come clean with them both. The Chief just said "no more chemo" and my older girl fell in a heap, as did the younger when I told her. That evening was harrowing.
My beloved partner of 30 years marriage went downhill quickly from there, being admitted to hospital on Saturday 22 March with breathing difficulties and slipping into a coma on Tuesday 25th. She passed peacefully in her "sleep", pain-free and healthy looking (except for the jaundice) just after 7.30 pm that night, surrounded by her family.
As a testament to the wonderful person my wife was, an estimated 350 people attended her farewell on Monday. She will be deeply missed by her family and the local community.
RIP Chief.

That certainly is testament, 350 people is hell of a lot. Glad she got what seems to be a deserved send off. Hope you can cope OK - I'm not sure I would be able to.

Well borne, and also well worded, S.
I am sure The Chief, wherever her spirit is, will be proud of your courage and bearing, and of your noble words of commemoration of her and simple report to us above.
I would also like to echo Dan's admiration of the size of the turnout. That is a very fine tribute also. (As well as your words, I mean.)
Keep it up mate!!

Re: RIP Mrs Skully
Thanks again to everyone for your generous and kind thoughts.
Keeping busy is the key to keeping the sad moments at bay, and me and the girls are doing our best to do that.
Oi Frommie, I think this thread can be unrikkied. The Chief is at rest and this lovely gesture can now slip into the realms of the older pages.
Thanks again, my fellow FBers.
