Why can't cricket support one - even if it was dedicated to domestic cricket only?

I guess the racing channels are supported by the gambling industry and shown in betting shops etc. County cricket just woudn't provide those sort of finances, although Sky Sports 2 temporarily became pretty much a full time cricket channel last summer.

Only because of The Ashes. I'm talking about a dedicated channel covering (essentially, the county championship.) I think there's a hidden reserve of support for it. There are loads of people into the game who don't live within a bull's roar of a county ground.

Well maybe spot fixing in cricket should be legalized.

Would be nice (the channel that is, not legalising fixing!) but not sure how such a channel would pay, the ECB would have to heavily subsidise it to broadcast a lot of first-class games as opposed to the T20 they show plenty of already, even if Sky didn't send six ex-England captains to commentate on Derbyshire v Leicestershire!

Might be more of a case for counties to be able to broadcast their own four-day games online.
