Re: Clarke out of UAE tour v Pakistan
Quite big news really but Ajmal out possibly neutralises his loss to an extent given that he is the best player of spin in the team.
Interesting that earlier today he got into a bit of a dispute on twitter regarding a journo playing down the seriousness of his injury.

A rhetorical question? Remember he is a minute to minute proposition.
BTW Clarke is evidently still a chance to play the tests but is ruled out the ODIs at this juncture.

The whole tour? At the moment it seems to be only the ODIs.

Word out there has Clarke and Boof seemingly at loggerheads over selections and selection policy.
Any truth in this?
Could Clarke's UAE tour exclusion through " injury " be as a direct result of said tiff?

I think Clarke has an exceptional talent for being able to piss people off.
Some good men (Katich, Hussey) and some twats (Watson, Ponting) have all had their issues with him over the years. Lehmann joins an ever growing bunch.

Too hard tour (don't know why) perhaps? Wife problems? Just trying to protect himself for the next ten month schedule?
A tiff with Boof would be more interesting. On the face of it they seem the sort who would have differing ideas of how to run a team, and let it affect them.

It has been a talking point here and Clarke won't resile from his comments but Boof has been trying to play it down.

Re: Clarke out of UAE tour v Pakistan
horrie's worst nightmare
"Australia wicketkeeper Brad Haddin will become Australia’s 45th Test captain if Michael Clarke is unable to play in the Test series against Pakistan in the UAE.
Australia coach Darren Lehmann confirmed Haddin will lead the team if Clarke was to miss a Test in the UAE, saying there is plan in place if the captain was to succumb to injury."

Go you Spiv good things.

Watson out too. Who would have guessed? Hilfenhaus gets a call up after working with McDermott and the squad through the off season.

Perhaps they just wanted a bowler that can get through a series without breaking down.
Re: Clarke out of UAE tour v Pakistan
Watson should seriously consider quitting tests. His main goal should be the World Cup, followed by retirement.
