Here's a chance for the Sheep to embarrass their despised "across the dutch" neighbours. A half decent effort by the Snoozies (one or more draws in the 3 Test series) will emphasise what an appalling effort Aus put in.

ATM, they're without their two best batsmen. Taylor's a doubt for the first Test - haven't heard that Williamson has recovered.

Why is it that this is a three test series, but Pak v Aus was only two tests?

I thought exactly the same thing when posting the thread.

Then again, perhaps the admins thought 2-0 doesn't look as bad as 3-0. Cool

that would be acceptable if what he said was along the lines of 'i am resigning the captaincy to concentrate on learning how to bat again'

That was three tests but was reduced to two to have a one day series. That, and Australian summer is beginning, while NZ's isn't till later.

NZ play a two test series against Sri Lanka starting on boxing day, and then SEVEN ODIs against Sri Lanka, followed by two (random) ODIs against Pakistan, then the World Cup. Talk about ODI overkill. Everyone wil be sick of ODI cricket before the world cup even begins! And then that will be a drag as well.

For me, the highlight of today's play has been umpire Ranmore Martinesz giving the soft signal regarding a catch at slip by Taylor off Sodhi's bowling. This indicated that Martinesz thought that it hadn't carried.

Pakistan 0/75 at the moment.

So identical wicket to the Aus Test pitch and possibly an identical result? Misbah and Younis must be licking their lips. Well done to Shehzad on another ton.
