Re: English Domestic Season 2015
Coming in at 6 (or 7 hiding behind Matt Dunn in the last game) isn't helping his case at all. Chris Woakes sometimes bats higher than 6 FFS.
Re: English Domestic Season 2015
Where else can he bat if he's not going to open? Sangakkara's at three, Pietersen's at four. That's about 50,000 international runs.
Davies is in mega form at five.
Someone's got to bat six.

Pietersen wasn't at four for the last couple of games though was he?

Tim Bresnan doing what he does best. The opposition needing 17 runs off the last over to win, with Jos Buttler on strike, he concedes 14 runs off the first 3 balls ...
... maybe he can turn it around?

Bloody good game of T20 that - full house too. Pears, or should I say "Rapids," weren't so dusty either.

Apparently, from the 16th over of the Northants innings onwards, we didn't have a keeper for the spinners. Cox fielded at fly-slip.

I suppose if the RRQ gets to (say) more then 13 per over and the ball isn't turning, you have as much chance of getting someone caught at fly-slip as you by having him stumped and you're only going to concede one bye. I think I'd still want a keeper though if I was bowling.

Do the laws state that the designated keeper has to stand BEHIND the stumps with the gloves on? Could he, for example, stand at cover whilst wearing the gloves?

Re: English Domestic Season 2015
The wicket-keeper is the only fielder permitted to wear gloves and external leg guards. If he does so these are to be regarded as part of his person for the purposes of Law 41.2 (Fielding the ball). If by his actions and positioning it is apparent to the umpires that he will not be able to discharge his duties as a wicket-keeper, he shall forfeit this right and also the right to be recognised as a wicket-keeper for the purposes of Laws 32.3 (A fair catch), 39 (Stumped), 41.1 (Protective equipment ), 41.5 (Limitation of on-side fielders) and 41.6 (Fielders not to encroach on pitch).
3. Position of wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper shall remain wholly behind the wicket at the striker’s end from the moment the ball comes into play until
(a) a ball delivered by the bowler,
either (i) touches the bat or person of the striker,
or (ii) passes the wicket at the striker’s end,
or (b) the striker attempts a run.
In the event of the wicket-keeper contravening this Law, the striker’s end umpire shall call and signal No ball as soon as applicable after the delivery of the ball.
you dont have to have a keeper ...but if you want gloves you have to stand in the correct position

Did Monty's troubles start with the divorce or was he just a pisshead or piss on head first?

It wouldn't have helped when they decided that Simon Kerrigan was a better slow left armer. That would do anyone's head in.

Re: English Domestic Season 2015
Just saw this on the Cricinfo commentary. Hope they are okay.
Some very disturbing news coming from Arundel where Moises Henriques and Rory Burns have collided on the outfield and are both being seen to by paramedics, fingers crossed, we'll keep you posted...
Sounds as if Henriques has been led away in an ambulance, apparently waving to the crowd, less movement from Burns who we believe has also been taken away by an ambulance. Prayers with them both...

Just Twitter jabber, but both players supposedly gave a wave/thumbs up as they were stretchered into ambulances.
Re: English Domestic Season 2015
Sky up dating, both in hospital, but not life threatening injuries.
